Imbue Familiar and Anti-Magic Shell

I have a friend who wants to try the combo of Imbue Familiar with Spell Ability, imbuing Anti-Magic Shell into his Earth Elemental familiar, and then having it travel through the ground to an enemy wizard, undetectably negating all their spells. Is this possible? Have others tried it? Where does the combo fall down?
Thanks for your comments.

A few problems with that tactic:

1) A shared spell stops affecting the familiar if it moves farther than 5 feet away.

2) The ground will break line of effect. In order to stop the wizard's spells, the familiar will have to poke up out of the ground to let the AMF out. Thus it won't be "undetectable"

3) You share the spell. The wizard would also have an AMF centered on him. This won't always bea problem, but it will be a lot of times.

Of course, if I'm talking about Share Spells and Imbue Familiar with Spell Ability is something else entirely, then only point 2 above will have any bearing (but its a pretty big thing, since it makes the familiar a prime target for the foe's weapon swinging friends.

This would work EXCEPT:

Imbue with Spell Ability can only work for up to 2nd level spells at the most. Also, once the spell was in effect, he'd have to show himself - 100% cover protect from emanations like an Antimagic spell.

Othewrwise, good plan. :)

I don't have a copy of Imbue Familiar with me, so I'll assume you can imbue a familiar with Antimagic Shell.

The above post is correct in that the spell must have line of effect to reach the wizard.

As a side note, there are two ways to share spells: 1.) Both you and your familiar are targeted, or 2.) only your familiar is targeted. When the second option is used, you do not need to remain within 5'.

Share Spells: At the master’s option, he may have any spell (but not any spell-like ability) he casts on himself also affect his familiar. The familiar must be within 5 feet at the time of casting to receive the benefit.
If the spell or effect has a duration other than instantaneous, it stops affecting the familiar if it moves farther than 5 feet away and will not affect the familiar again even if it returns to the master before the duration expires. Additionally, the master may cast a spell with a target of “You” on his familiar (as a touch range spell) instead of on himself.
A master and his familiar can share spells even if the spells normally do not affect creatures of the familiar’s type (magical beast).
