With the new D&D storyline being announced soon in the Stream of Many Eyes, WotC has created a new Twitter account called "Immortal Fortress" in which it appears to be giving cryptic answers to questions.

It was announced via their main Twitter account:

"Forgive my usurpation of this information stream, but circumstances call for nothing less. I dare not cede control ere I’ve occasion to recount a brief but dire missive from the realms that time forgot.

The Sage of Shadowdale hath hid on Earth a stone, of power great and imminent import. Its guardian, an exile from my realm, was spirited to Earth with this in tow; To keep it safe and secret ere its prophesied return.

The hour of its need now soon at hand, this item and its wielder must be found; Sent, via portal, back from whence they came. At long last, well and truly homeward-bound.

The Sage of Shadowdale himself is otherwise engaged, and cast me as his proxy in this search. Unable, as I am, to sojourn there myself, this task falls to the denizens of Earth.

Should you be of a mind to render aid, direct your queries to mine own account. I’m called @Immortal4tress, my address: your internet; Elminster’s humble servant, and forever in your debt."

Heading over to the Immortal Fortress account, there is this message: "My thanks to one and all who had the courage to recite the words the Sage of Shadowdale hath writ. I know not when or how these clues will come, so each of us should keep the rest informed. To guarantee that no replies be missed be sure to tag your posts #NoStoneUnturned."

The Twitter account is headed by a black and white photograph of Bodiam Castle in East Sussex. That could be relevant, or it could just be a representative castle.

Can anyone tell me what the ‘code names’ for each release have been so far?
As far as I'm aware, not all of the products were given code names (or else their code names simply weren't discovered).

The ones I know about:
Curse of Strahd: Cloak
Storm King's Thunder: Dagger
Tomb of Annihilation: Dust
Xanathar's Guide to Everything: Midway
Mordenkainen's Tome of Foes: Marathon

If I wasn't a realist, I'd think they were going to revive Castle Greyhawk. The original Dungeon in "Dungeons and Dragons". Too bad such a place would not fit in the Forgotten Realms, the de facto 5e setting.

Do you REALLY think this would necessarily stop the WotC team if they really wanted? :) Big planar portaltemporarily drops that hunk of space time onto Faerun and the only way to get it back is o delve it and restore the status quo?

Fortunately, They’re better off going Undermountain if they were going to do something like that.

They didn't force Ravenloft into the Realms and none of the adventures in Tales from the Yawning Portal changed settings.

They haven't really changed the setting of any classic modules. They just had multiplanar threats also involved in the Realms in addition to Greyhawk.

These are not so much the "vague" clues that WotC has been sneaking out there, but still info shared by them. A new podcast gaming group will debut during the Stream and it is called Rivals of Waterdeep. Also, the next episode for the Waffle Crew has them beginning a month-long boat trip to Waterdeep. So whatever is going to happen, it will start in Waterdeep.

The music for Dice Camera Actuons’s 3rd season is a blend of mission impossible and surf guitar. And in recent Fireside Chat, Nathan Stewart mentioned one of the races in MToF (shadar-kai IIRC) being good at heists, and he became animated and mentioned maybe he’d play one in the upcoming storyline. Maybe it will have a “heist” motif?

Fair points - that’s just my cynicism showing because they still haven’t opened up DM’s Guild to Greyhawk, Eberron, etc. after 4 years now.

WotC isn't in any hurry, doesn't mean they won't get there eventually: they do have a ten year plan for 5E, minimum, after all.

True.
Well... IIRC the DMsGuild only opened in 2016. It's only been two full years. But it does feel like they should have picked another setting and made it available. Especially one they're unlikely to return to, like Dragonlance.

Mearls has said that there is alternate setting related stuff coming down the pipeline,so we'll see something sooner or later.
