Hi U_K,

I must say that I am very disappointed :( at the delay before your book is available. Even if our group wasn't in the 18th to 19th level range (and in dire need of the Immortals Handbook), I would feel the same. (The IH just sounds so interesting!.) :)

One note of concern: I understand you wanting the book to be compatible with D&Dg. But does the same reasoning not apply to the Epic Levels book that WotC is producing? Will you be tempted to delay the release of your book again to ensure compatibility with the Epic Levels book? I hope not.

Personally, I'd rather have your book sooner and work out any inconsistencies with the WotC books and my campaign as they arise. Realistically, I need to do this with the existing books already, so I expect to do this with the IH as well.

I'd be quite willing to buy the Immortals Handbook as it is now (in .pdf format), and then buy it again when it's officially released as a hardcover book. (I know there's little chance of this happening but ....)

If the book is to be broken into different .pdfs, is there any chance you could release one (or some) of them earlier than the planned release for the whole book?

In any case, good luck.

I appreciate the support mate, and it saddens me to let people down, believe me. But if I didn't think the work would be better for it (and certainly better received) I wouldn't have made the decision.

No.

Remember that D&Dg is (supposedly all inclusive) so they will have to show the portion of the epic rules that applies to deities.

It will have no effect on the Faith; Campaign or Monster sections...though I am considering my best course of action with regard the Magic/Magic Items section (but at the moment that will be unaffected too).

I think the work will be better served if its consistent with D&Dg. No doubt some people wouldn't mind converting but many others (the bulk I imagine) would probably prefer to avoid this if possible.

Its still being released first as .pdfs then hardcopy to follow.

I'm afraid not. All of the sections will have divine elements (from D&Dg) so they would all have to wait for the introduction of D&Dg into the SRD.

Thanks mate! :)

Hi again, Krusty,

Oh did you indeed!

[add humorous tone here]

Yep. I shall explain my simple method of 'mind-reading'. It's based on noticing details. You know, the useless kind of details, that don't help anyone become succesful. ;)

Times back, you where pondering on boards if you should incorporate your rules to WotC rule-set or not, and what make different edition of your rules or not. Your original decicion won then, but not with that many votes. I also don't recall you making any absolute promise.

You left finding published pretty late. Now, I've used to fact, that if I don't start finding summer jobs about half year before summer,
I will end unemployed for summer-time. I think its kind of same here, at least psychologically.

You have been extrimely interested in WotC epic and divane rules lately. Oh, you thought nobody noticed, right? :D
A bit too much guessing in "Hercules in Deities and Demigods"-thread IMO:

Never underestimate migth of 'offical-rule-obsession of people' has been pretty easy thing to spot lately.

And you might of course yet change your mind, but I don't really see that happening. ;)

Clever and cute then...I saw your picture in the General Discussion Forum!

And I haven't seen your picture. :D
Cuteness is not something I've famious in real life, however. ;)

'Self-deprecating' is probably what your implying.

Mmh, probably.

All the cool ideas will still be intact!

Instead of having either my rules for divinity or WotC's rules, now you will have both complimenting each other (without having to adapt them at all).

I take optimistic stand. :)

Hehe, prepare to be assimilated by WotC, there is no saving throw.
Spell resistance is futile!

Well, now it is perfect. :)

Humor aside, do you have publisher now, or are you still looking?

True.

No, I was pretty comfortable in this regards (see below).

It would be hard not to have noticed!

Initially that was as innocent as 'know your enemy and know yourself etc.'

But obviously if anyones going to be interested in Epic/Divine books lets face it - its me!

I admit it has been a distraction this last week or so (I think I had c. 250 posts this time last week!).

For me its not simply a matter of a gamer abiding by rules though, I have publication responsibilities to consider (albeit indirectly).

Never say never!

I don't have any pictures of myself on my computer, but if I remember I'll get a friend to take a picture and put it up there!

Sometimes thats all you can do.

I have had a publisher for over a month now, but we haven't signed a contract yet - which is why I haven't revealed who it is!

Its simply a matter of me sending them the work which is (of course) currently being revised as previously mentioned.

Hi UK!

I suppose you've heard about the various lay-offs at WotC, and I'd like to know how you feel about the IH in relation to that. As you may or may not know, Ryan Dancey will no longer be in charge of the SRD (Ryan Dancey's post at GamingReport.com). With those changes, the addition of new materials to the SRD might take a longer time (notably before D&Dg is added), so I'd like to know how you feel it might delay the release of the IH...

That would just be like my luck! :D

I'll give things a week to settle then I'll probably email Anthony Valterra (I was going to email him anyway about another matter) and see if there is goinng to be a change in plans.

But considering Ed Stark (WotC) was on the wizards message boards last night saying hes looking forward to seeing non-WotC created materials based on Deities & Demigods I am not really worrying that much!

I'll be sure and keep you all apprised of the situation though! :)

Anything new coming from WotC?

BTW, have you received my last two emails (the reply to yours, and a description of the campaign I'm DMing)? I was quite surprised not to receive any answer, but as my Outlook sometimes messes up, you never know!:D

I haven't contacted Anthony yet, but I will later this week.

I received the emails and sent you a reply (did you get it?) - I have had trouble all week with hotmail, I have been getting errors the split second after I click send (thats happened over a half dozen times this past week!).

It could in part be due to my machine, I really need to reinstall, but I just don't want to bother with it at the minute.

Nope, I haven't received any reply... You still have them? Want me to resend the mails?
