Immortals Handbook - Epic Bestiary (Epic Monster Discussion)

Hey dante mate! :)

Thats a very good question...will there be a Death template?

No. Death is a being.

There are multiple gods of death, such as Thanatos (mentioned in the Daemon section of the Bestiary) who is a Greater God. Who many others regard as 'Death' itself.

But true Death is the First One of the dimension of entropy, known as Tamas. 'He' is the most powerful Umbral.

Another question...will you be covering Advanced Beings...like the Avangions and Dragons of Athas?

1. They are product identity, not OGL.
2. I don't know enough about them.

Whats so special about Avangions and the Athas Dragons anyway?

They are epic wizards / psions who use epic spells to transform into immortal Dragons, also known as Sorcerer Kings, and immortal Aberrations known as Avangions. For stats on them just visit Athas.org, they are the only people who can use any of the copyrighted material for the dead setting of Darksun which Wizards owns the rights too... :\

But there is nothing stopping UK from making his own advanced beings... ;)

Rob...

Death is only a first one? I would have thought that the four cardinal point undead would be an Eternal level of power.

By the way what are hyperforms, transelementals and Un-beings?

Also in future books would it be possible to include beings of beyond macro size? Hving the posibility of universe sized beings but only going up to macro is a bitof a disapointment.

What will be the most powerful being you intend to stat and what book will it be in?

I always loved the idea of blending magic and psionics to achieve a higher state of being. Especially the idea of becoming a dragon king.

A world ruled by dragon monarchs, all of which were once human. One step away from godhood, but so much more powerful in some ways.

Weak physical forms made whole and powerful by way of one's inner power.

Most importantly...an alternate path to immortality that doesnt involve godhood or undeath.

My favorite all time monster...the dragon. Dragon kings were epic before 3.0 came out. They kinda helped pave the way for the concept.

I can't speak for U_K, but a logical guess would be Tetragrammaton, a tetrad High Lord, to be in Gods & Monsters.

A tetrad would have a lower ECL than the Neutronium golem.

I think U_K has himself questioned the ECL of the Neutronium Golem post-Bestiary.

I can tell you firsthand that it would be but a trifle to build a Tetrad that would kick a Neutronium Golem's @ss. When you factor in Omnific Abilities and Transcendent Abilities like Omega Effect it's easy to see that it's a first round KO.

I'm not so sure an infinite number of Neutronium Golems would have a chance.

The challenge would be in designing a Tetrad that a Neutronium Golem could handle.

BTW U_K, I'm developing a list of questions regarding how certain Divine and better abilities might interact with each other. The explanations are clear on their face but it seems there are multiple reasonable interpretations in some instances. What's your patience on a litany of questions regarding the same sometime later this week?

I'll go take a look, although I still don't see what all the fuss is about. ;)

...but the d20 rules already have Advancement in built. I still don't see what I am to create here.

Hi Axolotl mate! :)

Death is synonymous with Entropy.

The first ones are Thought, Time, Fate, Spirit, Matter and Entropy.

They are beings encountered by Time Lords, existing only in a state of flux that is my imagination, until summoned forth by my epic level creativity.

The major drawback is that the system (d20) can barely macro sizes and beyond that the book-keeping is astronomical.

To be honest I think you need a more arbitrary game system (like 1st Ed. D&D) to avoid the rules simply grinding you down at uber levels.

I have tried to boil things down at epic/immortal levels, but even Ascension is guilty to an extent of simply adding too much 'stuff'.

I always had a hankering to stat Domedon Doxomedon (High Lord Octad), so I suppose he might be the most powerful, I'll ever stat-up. Though Tetragrammaton will just have to do in the meantime. :p
