Sorry, that was me. The question popped into my head one day, I found the thread, and then I made the mistake of posting to it...
We've quoted the rules over and over, and I think we've essentially managed only to rephrase the original question as to whether a "weapon with an alignment" (i.e., an intelligent weapon) should be treated as an "aligned weapon" for purposes of overcoming alignment-based DR. I say that since both phrases are actually used in the rules for overcoming alignment-based DR that it should.
I still don't think there is a unanimous decision, though, so I guess this is one for DMs to decide for their own campaigns.
