No fewer than four small-sized tunnels lead down into the earth. None are lit, or show any explicit signs of kobold activity. The sound of water splashing can be heard from one tunnel.

Letting out a protracted sigh Zaestilan addresses the group, annoyance evident in his voice "Are we going to get moving anytime soon! I believe you've allowed your adversaries more than enough time to prepare an ambush for you. Again"

Unfortunately, the stench of offal and decay from the surrounding bone piles is too heavy. Snargle does not pick up the worm's scent.

[sblock=DM]While Zaestilan waits for the group to decide what tunnel to go down, he wanders around the cave using his Ring of X-Ray vision to check for hidden treasure or to look into any other adjacent caves.[/sblock]

Snargle ignores the yapping of the dead and puts on the "fylactery" shrinking down into a smaller version of a troll. He then picks the tunnel with water sounds and heads that way, crouching down to enter the tunnel.

"One use. Snargle will save for small holes then. Not take it off after. How long necklace work?"

"It will last throughout the day, but cannot be reused if you return to your normal form."

With that Kaelvorr skulks down whichever tunnel Rose was taking, with nearly all of his ghostly frame submerged in the ground.

Still woozy from her...ordeal, Silhouette watches the others starting off down a tunnel. When she's sure they're out of earshot, she looks at her 'benefactor' and asks simply, "Why?"

It quickly becomes apparent to those in front that the tunnel does not contain water, but rather, a strange, oily substance. After an initial, sharp drop, it levels off somewhat and takes a smoother descent deep into the earth - and into the oil.

The emissary waits a beat to ensure that no one else reacts to this, and then leans closer still to the tiefling.

[sblock]"Can't I simply be a diplomat wanting to stay in the good graces of her hosts?" The emissary peers at Silhouette for a moment. "No? Ah well. Truthfully, I would simply love to hear some real, concrete information about the present situation. Your comrades and lackeys tell me nothing. I could have asked your corpse, I suppose, but that would have been quite awkward."[/sblock]
