D&D 5E (2014) Ironfang Invasion (IC)

"That Giana is not gonna miss a thing!" said Loosh enthusiastically. "I wish we'd had her on look-out the night we hit the reef."

"Keen eyes, a stout heart, a sharp mind, strong arms and a kind spirit. With these, one can do anything. There are no greater treasures" Lal intoned.

"And I shall watch the rear, for I have a large behind" He added with a grin.

"Grew up underground," Flint says with a smile before obviously remembering some not-so-nice experiences as his expression sours. Tiny magical raindrops fall around his head for a few seconds until he snaps his fingers and they disappear.

"Best get goin'," the dwarf mutters as he falls in line in the middle of the group, holding the greataxe in both hands but having his familiar dwarven handaxe within reach.

Giana leads the way into the northern tunnels. They walk quickly passed a short passage that leads back towards the entrance to the cave and then enter a roughly 50ft by 50 ft room.

A dark, rippling pool covers much of this sloping cavern. Water drips from stalactites above and tumbles from fissures in the rock wall. An underwater garden of colorful algae and white fish fills the pool.

GM:

The whole group notices the described above, but Giana also notices that clinging to the roof of the cavern above the pond are two medium sized creatures. They look very similar to crabs.

You are just entering the room and the creatures are on the far side of the room roughly 45 feet away, to move further into the room without disturbing the creatures is a DC 10 stealth check. Any talking in this cavern or within the 20 ft closes to it in the current passage way will alert the creatures to your presence.

Flint peers into the cavern, towards the place Giana points out. Does he recognize these creatures?

OOC: Not sure if I see them automatically, or that I need to roll Perception (with advantage due to Giana pointing it out?). If the latter, here goes:
[roll0]
[roll1]

Then I want to see if I know anything about the creatures. I guess that is a Nature check? (If Religion or History, the same number can be used; if Arcana, add 2.)
[roll2]

GM:
There are two other ways out of the cavern, around 15 feet to your right is a five foot wide passage to the east, and near the far wall on the eastern side is another 5ft opening where a stream of water comes in.

Flint does not believe the creatures are magical, he has never recalled hearing about magical giant crabs but he does not know much else about them.

Lal said in a low voice "In the Yellow city, at the very bottom of the social ladder there are crab men, who are treated as little more than beast of burden. They are cleverer than that however... not very aggressive, but they will defend themselves. ... I'm not quite sure if these creatures are crabmen however? I can't remember hearing about them clicking to ceilings! Perhaps if we circle the pool and not go near it they won't attack?"

He then added

"there must be an exit for the water at the bottom of the pool, else it would have flooded by now..."

"Delicious indeed," Corsa whispers, eyeing the crabs hungrily. "But if we're going to have kids poking around here, we can't leave anything dangerous. What say we take care of 'em now, and feast on crab tonight? I think we've earned it..."
