D&D 5E Ironfang Invasion (IC)

"We should get those herbs and get back to camp so we can check on the status of that goblin scouting party." Loosh suggests. He still wonders why the guy was running if he was alone. He moves off a little ways, intentionally going in the direction the guy came from, rather than where the group was headed.

OOC: [Roll=Perception]1d20+4[roll] to follow his tracks. Take 2 off that if you consider tracking a survival check.

"I don't like him, I don't trust him, and I think just letting him go would be generous," Corsa says flatly, as if he wasn't even there.

"But since I suspect few will agree with me...Edran, let's have a look through your things. If you're truly just a simple traveller, there should be nothing in there to concern us."

OOC: Edit: Adding a perception check to keep an eye on whether he tries to palm/stash anything before handing his stuff over.

Perception: 1D20+5 = [15]+5 = 20

OOC: Does he have a bag/backpack/whatever?

[sblock=JustinCase (OotA spoiler)]Why do I feel like we just met this AP's Buppido?[/sblock]
OOC: [sblock]Well, so far he hasn't tried to kill me while I was trapped in huge spiderwebs... [emoji6][/sblock]

Edran looked at the group and turned out his pockets, “I don’t have much, I left it all in my room, I didn’t think it was worth dying for.”

Looking over at Lal, Edran continued, “For this trip I was just looking to make connections see if there was a market for my wears here. But I make little wooden statues and trinkets. Say you wanted an image of your wife to take with you on a trip to remember her, I can make a hand sized wooden bust in a few hours. I do that type of work.”

GM:
Loosh can follow his tracks and his path through the woods with easy. The tracks show that he was alone and that he was running, the path goes in no solid direction, they look like they were made by someone running hard, and scared.

Edran does not try to pocket anything before he is searched. He has no bag, just a small pouch with whittling tools and on him you find a hunting knife (dagger). In his pockets are a few coins (5 gold 10 silver 13 copper) and a few berries and nuts.

Lal cannot tell whether Edran is being truthful or not.

Corsa sighs. She'd really been hoping for cause to put this idiot to the sword so they could move on.

"Look, either you're full of sh*t, or you really had nothing to do with what happened back there, and you're just the unluckiest bastard this side of the Steaming Sea," she says plainly. "But either way, you're Molthuni."

She looks around at the group. "Aubrin has spent her whole life defending this forest from the Molthuni; she lost her damn leg to those bastards. She knows the Fangwood back to front--you think she's going to give up its secrets to protect us if we've got a Molthuni in tow? I sure as hell wouldn't, in her position."

Well, I think she would be open-minded, like she usually is. But there is something I am wondering about: I get that you ran from the goblins, but that was some time ago. Three questions spring to mind: Why were you running just now, how have you spent the last nights, and have you not met any other survivors before us?" Loosh was still unclear on these points.

OOC: [roll0]

Corsa laughs. "I wouldn't be so sure of that...but those are good questions. In particular, why did you start to run from us? We're no goblins, and you've been among Nirmathans this whole time. Shouldn't you have been thrilled to find other people out here?"

Vin looks slightly confused by the grilling of the poor man, his companions really seem to dislike this man. He thought the man was genuine but he had learned to trust Corsa's judgement in these cases.

"Cover me," he aks as Fluffy materialises and leaps into the air. Once again he is one with the construct as it weaves a path back the way Edran had come.
