JLU season finale: "Epilogue"

So I'm the only one who really thought that episode was bad and had no place being a JLU episode even if did like it? I thought it came off as really pointless. This isn't Batman Beyong, nor was it in any way relevant to the League. And the whole Teryy is bruce's son thing just... was without merit. Why did it need to be done? What did it add to anything? How does that reveal matter to the current JLU series?

I've learned to greatly enjoy Bruce Timms work... starting with Batman:tAS and into his most recient bit (that I've seen at least) in Conan 18

I think it was a nod that Batman won't be on JLU next season because they don't want to confuse issues with the new The Batman series.
Is this really the case? If so, that's one of the dumbest things I've heard in a long time.

I doubt it will come to be... Most of Bruce Timm work revolves around the character of Batman so I got to imagine he really likes the character.

Batman is also needed to make the series work IMHO... Standing up to Superman, WW, MM, GL and the others... There's not to many that can pull that off without it looking forced.

Agreed. Enormous let-down after the previous episode.

No. I don't watch any of the cartoons so this whole thing seemed rather pointless to me.

Of course, I regularly have that problem with JLU because it seems to assume a body of knowledge that I, as someone who isn't a comic fan, do not have. Sometimes I have to get a friend who is to explain things to me so I understand what the heck is going on.

It could be considered relevant by fitting in thematically with this season's Cadmus arc. Someone on RPGNet said something like Amanda Waller spent all her time focusing on the Supermen of the world when it's the more ordinary heroes like Batman that truly make a difference. When I read that, it all clicked for me. It helps bring closure to the Cadmus arc by showing Waller realizing what it is that really makes a hero.

Finally, it may not need to be relevant to the latest storyline from JLU since it was to serve as a possible closer for the Timm/Dini universe started way back in Batman: The Animated Series which started with a winged silhouette surprising some pilots and ending with the same. Thankfully it's not the end yet, but it is a nice finish.

Yeah, I noticed this too.

Gosh, what a great episode. An excellent stand alone that solidified the nature of The Batman without making him "weak."

BTW, when will the new season start? And where's the official website?
