I liked the episode a bunch, but then, I saw the stuff required to appreciate it.
As for "It had no place in JLU", I don't really buy that. I watched JLU because I watched Superman and Batman (TASes) and Batman Beyond, so it had a place there for me. It's all part of the same universe.
It might not have been a style or character you enjoyed, but that's an entirely different issue. There's nothing wrong with having a personal preference -- I disliked the "Wonder Woman turned into a pig" episode because the tone didn't work for me (although I liked Zatana doing magic and the advancement of the Batman/Wonder Woman romance), and I disliked the "Flash goes to Apokalips" episode because I think most of Apokalips is silly, except for Darkseid, who is a flippin' badass but no longer with us.
I wouldn't have wanted that episode to have taken the place of "Divided we Fall", but it was a heck of a way to cleanse the palate after that two-season-long arc.
