John Doe ... what happened?

So whatever happened to the show John Doe? I only managed to catch the first couple of episodes, and aside from the absurdity that Doe could recite the binary code of Windows, it was pretty good.

Was it cancelled? Concluded? How'd it end in either case?

The show was not picked up by the network for another season so it just had the one season run.

Although the episodes that aired did not tell you the secret behind who John Doe was, there was an interview with the producers/writers/someone that gave away that secret.

I did not watch the show nor follow anything about it. I just remember hearing random comments, etc. the below info is based soley on what I remember and may be wrong

john doe was a man that died and approached the "light" apperently when you die, you get all worldly knowledge (that is part of the "light" process) but instead of taking the final step to cross over, john doe remained back on earth to do something.

So whatever happened to the show John Doe? I only managed to catch the first couple of episodes, and aside from the absurdity that Doe could recite the binary code of Windows, it was pretty good.

It wasn't so much the absurdity of him being able to recite the binary code of Windows that got me. It's the kid in the audience that apparently could also recite the same code, as he was able to verify the correctness of John Doe's recital without looking at a computer.

That said, I did like that show a lot, and miss it. Has anyone heard about the unaired pilot? They had Meatloaf playing Digger before they hired William Forsythe.

Wow, I wouldn't have expected that at all. Refreshing. I watched only the first episode but it seemed alright. I assumed it would be a typical story of him being some deep cover secret agent who had knowledge embedded in his brain matrix-style.

What would have been interesting was if John used the Bible Code and had to have knowledge of himself removed because it appeared in the code! Now that would have been cool. Do a search on Bible Code to find out more.
