Well put dcollins! Otterscrubber, You don't seem to want to see the facts, or FAQ  of the matter. (man that was bad, why did I type that? :o) The rule has been made clear, there is no question.

What can i say, your'e right, i dont want to see the rules cuz frankly they dont make any sense. Just because there is a rule doesnt mean I blindly follow it. That is why i began this thread. A jump lasting longer than 6 seconds? When was the last time you saw a jump with a hangtime of more than 6 seconds? From a stand point of 3 seconds up and 3 seconds down on the jump that makes the vertical distance of the least about 180 feet with normal gravity rules applying. With the jump rules stating that vertical height equaling 25% of the horizontal distance a jump should not last longer than 6 seconds unless the distance is 720ft +. Does that make sense? This is why i started this thread, the jumping rules were not very well thought out. If the rules made sense i would not be here on the boards.

AuraSeer[/i] [B] You start out moving horizontally at a certain speed. When you jump said:

Because jumping doesn't increase your movement rate. It is simply another method of moving.

Your jump is the same as your speed.

If it is another method of moving then why cant it have a different speed?

Strange. I thought you weren't following the rules because you're blind. :p

When was the last time you saw a jump of 120ft? As was said before, real world physics have no place in D&D. If you try you will have nothing but headaches.

Anyway, the movement rules are a crucial part of the combat balance. If you're going to let people "teleport" by jumping around and still have movement then you're REALLY going to mess up combat balance - that or every battle in your sessions will start to look like Frog-Combat.

You know, the sooner you realize that there is no such thing as a jumping speed, the better. Your jump is the same as your speed. No faster. No slower.

I understand that, thus the 'IMO' and the 'should' in my statement. :)
