Jungle Deeps and Ocean Depths

When Morrin asks about the inn, he interjects, "Morrin, right, I remember you from our sea-travels. We are soon heading to an inn, the Rainbow Bird, recommended by these fine merchants here. Would you care to join us?"

Morrin turns to the familiar voice and smiles. He nodded polietly and took a step forward, "If it wouldn't be any trouble for you. Good to see some familiar faces around."

Winter smiles a bit, and gives the Dwarf a curt nod, holding his hands palm-up in a sign of resignation. "I do apologize, master dwarf, for I was not aware. Your love for Ubtao is evident, and I commend you for it. I've never found myself to be quite the religious sort, personally, though I do not see it as being completely without merit."

Taking a step away from the dwarf, Winter points toward the wharfs. "The inn's here, you say? And please, do not call me lord, for it is not quite a fitting title, master dwarf." He gives a slight bow. "And I'll consider your advice about the blade."

OOC - Would it be possible to use a Scrying on the purple gem to find more of it's kind?

Undinar Deptholas, water genasi Living Spell

"Well Winter, shall we head to the Rainbow Bird Inn? This friendly dwarf recommended it and it would appear that you have a meeting there later anyways. This here is Morrin, he was on our ship during the voyage, I have invited him to join us. Unless of course there is something else that you would like to see about in the market." Undinar says in all politeness to his employer.

"Indeed, my guard, I am quite finished in this marketplace for this day. And you have my greetings, Morrin." Winter raises a brow, almost in a challenging gesture. He runs a hand back through his hair, nodding.

"Yes, to the Rainbow Bird it is, then."

"I..know..wizards," the saurial says slowly, "I.. am Whisper. Thank you." He points to all the halflings and claps awkwardly.

Speaking of wizards, he wonders where Friend-Halark has gotten off to. They were supposed to meet at some point. He turns to the halfling for another question, straining to produce the noises required low enough for her to hear, "Inn?"

"Proving once again, there is no place like home. In Waterdeep, I probaly could have found a copy at one of the guilds arcane or a shop. Oh well. That noble type, Winter? He looked like he was planning something. If we see him, remind me to ask him about a job. Nobles always have more money then they know what to do with."

*Winter, Master Goldfire nods at your refusal of title*

"Very well then Winter. I will see you at the Rainbow Bird come sundown," he says politely, nodding in confirmation of the direction of the inn, then turns back to his other customers.

*Winter, Undinar, Morrin, and Taesshan all start walking toward the row of inns near the warf, looking for the Rainbow Bird. It's not too difficult to find, as it's round shape makes it quite unusual. The bright colors and huge amount of flowers make it even more eye-catching. Inside the dim interior is lit by a skylight three stories above in the center of the room. Brightly colored birds call out a chorus of welcomes.*

"Welcome! Welcome! The Rainbow Bird is the finest inn. You will be happy here, happy!"

*An older Chultan woman dressed in orange and red cotton comes to greet you, tossing nuts to the welcoming birds. Morrin, you notice that Halark is here, along with his bodyguard Dorcha. Both are having a mid-morning meal of some kind of stew, and there's a bowl of fruit on the table. Various other well-dressed individuals are scattered sparsely about the common room.*

"Welcome to the Rainbow Bird," the woman says, smiling. "I am Crilly. How may I be of service?"

*Halark, you hear the birds go through their greeting ritual and turn around to see the new arrivals. To you pleased surprise, one of them in Winter.*

*Whisper, when you ask about an inn, Kibbi replies.*

"We're staying at the Jeweled Parrot, lots of the entertainers stay there. The Silver Falls has the best food though, but Jakko says the Rainbow Bird is the nicest one of all. The Feathered Serpant is where most of the lizardfolk tend to go, and the The Firefly's Kiss is the prettiest... Well I could go on all day, I rather like the inns in this city. Look around near the warf, most of them are there," she says cheerfully. One of her fellow halflings calls for her to get ready for the next show, so she bobs gracefully to you and scampers off.

OOC: : dave_o, the scry spell says you locate a creature, but I could probably allow it for the gem ... do you have that 2x4 ft mirror focus in your character's back pocket? ;)

Halark and the others always stayed at the finest inns. He always got the feeling they thought being wizards made them better than shamans who slept outside. With a sigh and hint of pepper in the air, Whisper goes searching for the Rainbow Bird.

Standing up, Halark motions for Dorcha to follow him. "Winter? Halark Greywave. I belive we met on the ship here." Extending his hand to the man, Halark keeps on talking "I fear I need more funds to continue my search, and I was wondering if you had any job openings. Im afraid the Church of Kelmvor here is far too small to need me, and the locals stick to their own.

"Mm," Winter incants, letting his eyes wander around the room a bit in a perhaps impolite greeting to Halark, "ah, yes, a job." Realizing his distraught appearance, Winter quickly gives the man a firm handshake, and nods curtly. "Well met, Master Greywave. I've not jobs to simply go passing about -- the Prince is in my service as he has proved his skill on numerous occasions, and is formidable merely from appearance. Appearance, my good sir, is quite important. So, what can you offer me?"

Winter finds his way to a seat, and begins to absently sample fruit, savoring each on his pallete in a vaguely sensual display.
