Leif's 4E Adventuring in Encastulum [OOC 1]

I'm also for this. A meeting would be nice!

I don't know if you had a chance to look at Firil's background dream66_ but he's from a local wilderness tribe. Is there any way to have a connection, however loose?

I wasn't looking at other's backgrounds for spoiler reasons. If it's ok with you I think it might be logical to assume that Firil would recongize Irinea for what she really is, or at least as a nature spirit, and wonder why she's acting so unnatural.

Alternately you could have interacted with her in the past, but I was intending that she had been in "rage mode" for a very long time, so maybe she was just a "kids, stay away from that spirit, she's very angry."

dream66_ that works absolutely fine with me. I'll have "knowledge" and maybe have heard about the angry spirit as my tribe would probably be aware but won't have met you. Excellent!

I've finally noticed Leif's "New Recruiting Notice" for Encastulum from two weeks ago in the sticky thread. That's a long time getting started -- from last July till now; I hadn't looked at the adventure because of the 21 pages of OOC -- thinking, "Surely this must be well into the swing of things!"

If you are still looking for another to join, I'll try to read the whole OOC thread and see what the desiderata are. Maybe I'll be able to put together a 4E PC that would fit into that milieu.

Swing of things?

Wellll, sorta, I guess. We actually had a fairly long period there where I was preoccupied with other things and paid little attention to this game. However, we still had two of our original 4-6 players around (Scotley and RavenBlackthorne) and we're in the process of adding dream66_ right now, now that we've gotten things going again. So if you want to post a proposed character in this thread for my review, we should be able to work in a new warm body very soon.

RE: 21 pages of OOC -- We're just a mouthy bunch, what can I say? Except that it's mostly my fault....

I'm not sure what kind of characters you're in need of; the discussion seemed to point to a lack of a Defender, but I doubt that's a vital consideration.

I threw together a Protector Druid, so that's another Controller. (Alright, sort of a Controller.) Here's this:
(Breachtad the Druid pronounces his name "Breet," in much the same way that Eithne is pronounced "Enya.")

Spare comments: Irinea is build using Heroes of the Feywild, and that's the same book that introduced the Protector Druid.

I have no idea whether "Breet" has any connection to any other PC. If he's interesting to people, we can work out stuff.
With a Heal bonus of +9, was he late to the Memorial and Banquet because he was helping at a field hospital in the Marshes and couldn't get away early?
I toyed with giving him Diplomacy trained; but druids spend more time out in the wild than in the courts, so he wouldn't have been an emissary to the other side. (?)
He's also an alchemist, knowing how to make Clearwater Solution. The fetid waters of the Marshes might give him a lot of work to do. (Again, "?")

Ok, he looks pretty good to me. Yeah, Heroes of the Feywild is an acceptable source, obviously. One qustion, though, and this is going to reveal the sparcity of my 4E knowledge: How come your Druid has the Warlock Eldritch Blast ability? I may want to check some things tomorrow, so hold off adding Breachtad to the RG until I give you the All Clear.

Ok, I forgot that about half-elves. However, the Eldritch Blast is a class feature of the Warlock, not just an at-will. I'll have to think about that some more before I decide whether I'll allow it. There is some doubt in my mind whether the at-will can function without the class feature or not. But, it is a very clever idea and I have to say that I'm leaning towards it just now. I do expect a similarly clever back story for your character explaining how he came to learn this trick, and that, at the very least, is a prerequisite for this whole deal.
