At this point, we aren't sure. My participation on this board isn't the only thing that has suffered of late. Real life has endeavored to drive me mad.
Sorry to hear that Ash. But I hope I don't have to wait until NEXT Christmas before I see it.

Btw nice way to defeat Izador. And no one had to lose an eye fighting him! (Just arms, legs, feet and other parts keeping him at bay! ;) )

Nightfall,

I have never known why these setting sages things and the choosing of it... anyway that is of no real interest to me.

Wombat may be picky anywhere, that does not make his opinion on it less valid, what I wanted to say is that while he may be that and his opinion has base, I don't agree with it, but that is what taste is all about, one can say there is no logic behind a dragon king while another thinks it is the greatest idea ever.

He may be the worst troll, what i think he is not, but I will still fight for his right to speak it, we are not fanatics here and I have seen many crazy flaming on WotC boards because one suggested 3rd party materials and so on, THAT is something I think is unecessary, we are all entitled the right to have our owbn taste, Wombat has never been rash and he may be like diaglo and say everything but the original D&D is but a mock, I am okay with it, as long as he is as polite as possible, in the many Midnight threads around Wombat ahs always said he does not like Midnight and its concept and he has always been polite.

But that is not where this thread should be going, just wanted to talk a little bit with Nightfall... long time since I went to the hive too.

I think Nif, you misunderstood me.

1) I'm not saying we should censore or eliminate Wombat. I AM saying that I find his opinion more than a little biased and certainly not much merit. Does that mean I want him to shut up? No even though I wouldn't mind it. But much like Rush Limbaugh or other people of political, moral, ethical or other view points other than mine annoy me, I go on. His opinion is valid only as this: His opinion. Am I devaluing his opinion? Possibly but that's my right to feel and speak that way. What I will say is that is MY opinion. I won't tell him to shut up. I'll just keep on arguing. In any case I don't MIND him being polite. I expect it. Just like I expect it from others. But that doesn't mean I accept that being polite means I can't disagree. I will TRY to be polite and civil back in my disagreements. But doesn't mean I won't disagree. So that's my point in all this.

I don't necessarily think Midnight is the be all and end all of d20. (If that were the case I'd have a lot more Midnight stuff in my collection other than Tome of Shadow part 1 and the CS). But I do value Ashrem's opinion and the opinion of many Midnight fans BECAUSE I happen to agree with them. Is that wrong to agree with them? Doubtful but still.

Now as for this being a Midnight thread I will say, how many are looking forward to newest book for Midnight? I know I am! :)

Oh and about your first thing:

Setting sages are only available in d20 since everyone goes to WotC anyway.

Nightfall,

I may have misunderstood you, and I do think you are entitled that opinion, what made me a little uneasy on this was that you were poiting the bias as if it would undo all Wombat said, and while it may have been happening recently I have seen Wombat saying the same things on Midnight about 6 months ago, almost.

Anyway, I love midnight and have all books so far, looking forward to the coming one... very anxiously!

And for the setting sage thing, you say like sage advice and Skip? I see... than I still think that should be Wil... who answered the Defender Weapon Trap ability discussion... ;)

Nilf,

Wouldn't got THAT far. But I would say we setting sages are around to be sagicious, dispensing knowledge, extolling the virutes of our settings, and maybe make a ruling now and again. Not often. The developers DO have their say and that is law.

Yes but I will say Crown of Shadows LOOKS great! Or was it City. I forget exactly which one it was that's coming out in February.

Crown of Shadow is a great Midnight adventure for levels 1 -5 that's already released.

City of Shadow is the new book that will deal with Theros Obsidia and the forces of Shadow.
