Optimus gazes sternly around the arena and calls out in a bellowing voice, "This is where it ends. This is where Evil perishes." The crowds don't argue. Optimus concentrates and touches the bottom of the victory zone at 80n60e, which suddenly emits a very bright light, reminiscent of daylight.

Maximus Rex breathes a quickened blinding light on Howlie (and away from Lady Mariangela), then pins Howlie without damaging him. He then nods toward Optimus. "Indeed, victory is assured."

Lady Mariangela grins as only the most noble of creatures can grin. A peaceful calm almost comes over the spectators, but they are shocked awake with special gadgets installed following the rilmani debacle. She stays hovering and casts yet again, with another gate forming in the arena. Out of the disc to the upper heavens appears a large, nine-foot tall being, humanoid in shape but with large bone-colored wings and greenish skin. No glow currently surrounds the angel, located at 55n40e.

"Welcome, St. Patrick. I have called you to join us in our fight against evil. You knew this time would come."

The planetar glares at Howlie, the only visible object of his hatred towards evil. "Aye, me lass. So, tha end be near. Call on tha others 'n I shall begin me preparations." St. Patrick glances at the two dragons and further comments, "Ev'ryone, lower yer spell resistance whenever possible so that me beneficial spells will help ye."

Betting in the Shearing Pen reaches an all time high. The bets are no longer about the current fight, or even the next 20 fights, but whether Lawful Good has the chance to run the board against Chaotic Evil.

Lady Mariangela says, "You are formidable indeed, Maximus, but he is a dragon and dragons have excellent resistances. Wait until I can stun him again before continuing the pin.'

St. Patrick casts death ward on himself, leaving his protective aura down.

Optimus Prime lowers his spell resistance and shifts 5ft to the north.

Maximus Rex delays and the Lady Mariangela casts another spell, speaking a single, 8-page word of power at Howlie, "Stun!" She will inform everyone of its success or not.

If it is successful, Maximus Rex disengages from the grapple (free action when pinning) and moves to 40n20e and lowers his spell resistance. If it is not successful, Max continues the pin and curses, politely.

St. Patrick casts shield of law on himself, Maximus Rex (no SR), Optimus Prime (no SR), and Lady Mariangela (roll SR). He then flies straight up 10ft.

Optimus Prime continues lowering SR.

Lady Mariangela says, "Max, as much as you hate to do it, please cure Howlie and then injure him, so that we can avoid a draw." She then casts another spell, and yet another gate opens up. A seeming twin of St. Patrick appears out of the passage to the Celestia, at 65n35e.

"My name is St. Stephen and I will heed the call of Lawful Good."

Maximus Rex expends a cure critcal wounds on Howlie, really not liking to do that. "This is very disturbing, you know. I'd prefer to fight chaotic evil fairly."

St. Patrick speaks up, "And yet, me laddie, they dinnae fight fairly agin' us, do they? How many chaotic evil opponents are there to ours?"

You never cease to surprise me. I would have thought that the brother of St. Patrick and St. George would be either St. Andrew or St. David.
