I have heard FLGSs is the best place.

Maybe the only place originally, though I am sure Ebay and other miniature dealers will have them eventually.

Any guesses as to how popular that guy will be? I wonder what will constitute a "success" with WotC so they don't scrap the line. I'm not getting it personally, although it does look cool.

My understanding is that its about 1 per store, and ONLY if your store hosts D&D Encounters. Furthermore, I've heard it is presented to the store with a plaque (spelling?) on it with the stores name basically making just about impossible to get. Which really PISSES me off. I have supported every other mini put out and I can't get this one...

It's very hard to say. I'm definitely buying it if I can get my hands on one, and my FLGS has ordered it, but doesn't know if they're going to get one or not. And I don't have a lot of stomach for playing the hyper-inflated price it will no doubt command on the secondary market.

I expect these will be stupidly expensive after market. Personally, I don't need a demonic figurine in my house but I believe my FLGS has one coming in. It will be interesting to see if it sells or not.

The thing is, from this day forth, all of your games will have to center around Orcus just to justify buying it.

"Really Joe, priests of Orcus are ravaging the countryside again? We just defeated him 2 weeks ago when the Epic game ended."

DM: "You have defeated the life-size Scion of Orcus!"
PLAYERS: "Yay!!"
DM: "Now you must defeat the Real Orcus, and then the Clone of Orcus, and then the Son of Orcus!"
PLAYERS: "Awww..."

Nah, it's going to fulfill the same role in my collection that the Colossal Red Dragon does. I hardly ever actually use Big Red, but he sits on top of the storage units that hold my minis and glowers at the players. Reminds them what could happen if they get too cocky. :)

What if more that one person in your group gets the figure?

"Uh, yeah, we're fighting a band of Elite Orcus..es."

"Again?", -- N
