Guess I need to rework Purple Haze then...

Edit: Maybe not.

Spinning only effects the toughness save vs Physical attacks, not all attacks.

Still, I'll probably rework him anyway.

Ok, someone explain this to me.

Super-Speed - 5 pp/rank
Gives you Quickness (1 pp/rank) and Speed (1 pp/rank), +4 initiative per rank (Improved Initiative equivilent 1 pp/rank), and a free power feat.

Now, granted, the powerfeats available are interesting, but not unreplicatable (at least most). But...
A) Any Alternate powers you take nullifies all of the above powers when in use. (so your alternate power strike nullifies your initiative as well as your speed, so you can either walk normaly and smack someone hard, or run realy quick and smack them with a normal unarmed attack, for example)
B) The same powers could be bought at 2 pp/rank or less, and function at the same time, and potentialy be alternates of each other.
C) You're paying 2 pp/rank more for this setback than the initial power set.

Now, other than for the 1 or 2 unrecreatable power feats, (Rapid Attack, and potentialy Rapid Fire), why would you pay for this power unless you were realy wanted all those other alternate powers and didn't need any of them at the same time?

Or am I missing something?

A toughness save limited to one type of attack still apply to the limit. The best example is with attack bonus. The feat attack focus and specialization count toward your limit of attack bonus.

The things that doesn't apply are the trade 1:1 feats (power attack) and circumstance bonus (like Total Defence).

Yeah, oh well.

Quick question about a block action. Do I have to block every attack, or only if they hit? If I block an attack, does that replace my normal defense or is it in addition too?

OOC: Sorry if I'm asking a lot of questions, but I figure eventualy others will ask too, so hopefully other questions are getting answered.

Correct and incorrect. If a character buys up spinning to his power rank, he can still buy protection, if he wants it, he just wont be able to make use of its bonus against physical attacks since he is already at his max toughness for that, but it would bring up his toughness against non-physical attacks.

You are able to chose which attacks to block and which ones you don't want to. You don't get to know if they hit before you attempt to block. If you do choose to block, the opponet's attack must equal or exceed both your defense, AND the block roll.

You don't need to be sorry about that, I don't see any problem with that. We still have to understand the changes (or the system for new comers).

BTW, on the speed issue:

Steve Kenson Speaks!

Apparently, the left over 2 points are for the power Array, so you don't loose the other powers while you use them. Good to know. I'm guessing there are other powers like that, but you should ask here or post a link to Steve Explaining it before you assume.

Thanks Kylara.

As to your Question on Super Speed. The price includes a 2pp/rank array for use with APs so that you don't lose out on all the other benifits of Super Speed.

The HQ Thread is up and ready for entry. Make sure you announce your name as you enter.

I also made a note to add Living Supers to any e-mail corespondence you send it so we can be sure to get it and look at it.

Hopefully we can get some adventure proposals in soon.

Ok, Note on the HQ thread, while you don't have to be approved to enter, it helps if you have at least some sebelance of a character when you enter.

Also, no more than one active character in a single location, which means you can't bring both of your heroes into the HQ thread at any time.

Thanks, and have fun :)
