lost control of my spending sphincter yesterday

Was in the lovely city of Ottawa yesterday (the closest -and best- gaming store, FandomII resides therein), and as the subject line says, I lost control of my spending sphincter.
We bought:
-five Cyberpunk CCG starter decks (a good friend pulled art direction and artist on that one, and there's even a card based upon Hellhound)
-2 Cyberpunk CCG boosters
-2 Mongoose books: Magic of the Drow (my pre-teen called the art therein "juvenile", lol) and World Shapers (I think those were it)
-the Eberron module
-2 boxes of WotC Miniatures (the ones with the huge "mini" in 'em)
-1 Neopets CCG booster pack

Sure, the $200 (CDN) hurt the wallet, but it felt really good to support my FLGS, and my friend's foray into CCG illustration.

So- anyone else splurge recently? What were your more recent purchases?

i would have never wasted so much money on this crap.
well, maybe the mongoose books and the eberron module, but thats it.

Have you used those before? I've heard good things about them.

The paints are a little thinner than the ones I normally use (Citadel). I like this as it makes blending a littler easier. On the other hand, it makes thinning them a little more problematic for me as I haven't got the paint thinning formula down yet and everything seems to be watery which reduces the pigmentation.

I've heard good things about Adiken's line too though and if funds become free in the future, will probably start using those.

It's hard to control that spending sphincter when many good books are out. I've done well so far, but in a month or two, the veritable poop will hit the fan. Libris Mortis, Frostburn, MMIII, Complete Arcane, the two Iron Kingdoms books, ahhh!

Oh man! Don't get me started. I just got back, and I managed to purchase just the latest issue of Dragon, thats a new record for me.

However, I did but Munchkin the cardgame and the nifty little boardgame Kahuna.

Usually I leave the gamestore with well over $25 above my budget :(

That's why I try go go as little as possible :)

Here's a question.

I'm assuming you mean Encyclopedia Arcana: Drow Magic.

What does the art in Magic of the Drow look like? What is it?

I wrote the book and I haven't actually seen the final product.

Is there a lot of boobs & gore?

Bah! I ruptured my spending sphincter and it may take weeks if not months to heal.

My last trip to Sentry Box (Calgary. Alberta's Gaming Mecca) I dropped 343.00 CDN in there. Let's see I got:

Spycraft:
Modern Arms Guide
Fixer/Pointman Classbook
Soldier/Wheelman Classbook
Snoop/.... Classbook
The Agency
Gentlemen's Agreement
Spycraft DM's Screen (which I can't recommend to anyone, I've seen heavier 20 lb. paper!)

D&D
Planar Handbook
Dungeoncraft (As always anything by Mike Mearls rocks... he's my new Monte)
Box of Giants of Legends Minis (got the Bullette... now I've got 4 of them and still no Glabrezu :()

I'm sure there is something else I'm missing here...

Yup, twas EA:Drow Magic.

No boobs, only two vaguely gory. And honestly, it wasn't that bad, artwise. I can see whence the pre-teen got the juvenile vibe- it's fairly simplistic, but not bad.

I don't see it wasting money by supporting a struggling company for which my friend works. Particularly when it's the Cyberpunk genre, and since my husband and some of my friends were used as models for artwork.

Gotcha.

Sometimes Mongoose does love the boobs, so I thought I'd ask.

Hope you enjoy the book.

And the Cyberpunk CCG folks are nice. They were the next table over from my company at GenCon SoCal. Gave us free shirts and free cards.
