[LotR] My enthusiasm for all other movies will pale in comparison...

I've followed these films with great enthusiasm over the past few years. In a lot of ways it's like my enthusiasm for 3E back in 1999-2000. And when Wednesday rolls around, as thrilled as I will be with actually getting to see RotK, a big part of my online activities will be over. No more looking for scoops...

And there's not a movie that's waiting in the wings that I'm all that interested in. SW Ep 3, maybe in a year I'll be getting a little more interested. But that's about it. Until the "fantasy renaissance" is underway that is... :) I could get interested in "Narnia."

I'm trying not to let the hype get to me this time, but if every reviewe I have read about RotK is true, its going to rock.

The saddest part is, This is the year I run out of cheap Christmas presents for the closest 14 of my friends. :) As of this year, I will have bought tickets for the friends and family of my gaming group for all three LOTR films. It was a nice way for us to get together in lieu of a game session, it was a gift that EVERYONE wanted, and we had a great time each time.

All other holiday movies will pale in comparison from this point.

C'mon, Wednesday!

a $15 official poster of their favorite character isn't that much more than a non-matinee movie ticket. :)

As much as I counted the seconds to FoTR and TT, I just can't get the enthusiam up for RoTK. TT diverged way too much from the true story for me. It was a good movie, and will be a good trilogy, but I'd have really liked to have seen a truer version. I'll be in the theatre Wednesday, but I have a great feeling of trepidation, as if I were going to a funeral.

The only problem is that what opens this Wednesday will be the Theatrical Version of the film... the Extended DVD version won't be out for almost a year! :(
