With the tables turning the morale on the guards was starting to break. The one facing Charity called to the others, "Pull back so we can regroup!" He stepped back again and used his guisarme to up end the armored woman once more.

The battered guard sandwiched between Aishe and Yosephus declared, "Enough of that, I am getting out of here!" He slipped out from the precarious position and headed towards the other guard.

The third guard used his polearm to trip up the healer and then moved on by him as well. "I am coming. Wait for me!"

Yosephus took a free shot with his morningstar, but flat on his back he was too slow.

Francis scurries towards his assailant, ducks through his legs, and finds himself in the alley on the opposite side of the guard. He secretly calls out to his 'friends', "This iron is surely ripe for striking is it not? Better hurry before the other birds migrate! (Someone flank this guy! Don't let the others escape!)" The war pig happily follows Francis into battle, eager to impale the newest target. Bacon runs right through him, with authority.

Holding her shield ready for the pole-wielder's strikes, Charity stands up again and steps in to strike. Eyeing the badly wounded guard trying to close ranks with the first, she suddenly lashes out and him, running him through with a quick burst of speed and letting him fall off her blade unceremoniously. "Ye thugs picked bad fight!" she utters, her injuries notably lessening as she turns her attention back to him.

With Bacon following after his master, he was not so concerned about the polearm's reach and the animal left itself open to attack. But after getting smacked with the guard's weapon, he reacted with a goring in return. It was enough that Aishe's kukri finished off the trapped guard.

With the remaining guard all alone, he simply ran away blowing his whistle to call for support and aid. He left his backside open, but Charity's attempt to skewer him in the rear narrowly missed.

Btw, after seeing how difficult it is for LM to actually play the build for Yosephus (appears to be a social skilled character with little combat capability), I will probably tweak that build to be more melee oriented instead.[/sblock]

Francis rushes over to check on his pig. Once he finds that the boar will in fact survive, he hurriedly begins to give the bodies a quick once over. He is generally looking for any identifying items, something he can use later, gold or anything valuable, a signet ring on the captain, or anything else interesting or peculiar. Once satisfied, he begins to drag the fallen bodies to the closet alley. All the while, he animatedly speaks to his new friends.

"See if you guys can find anything useful, and let's drag these bodies out of sight. They will be back for sure! We should head to the docks and find the first ship out of this nightmare. Hurry! Oh, and me name is Francis. Francis John III. Prince of All Halflings. We should eat drink and be merry together as soon as we are in more delightful circumstances. First round is on me!" His new smile fades as he labors in his morbid search.

With the last guard having fled, Charity turns to the situation at hand, still breathing hard from the combat exercise. "Too many kids be cryin' thanks to the captain's stupidity," she comments, her generally polished Venzan dialect somewhat slipping into something else.

However, Francis speaking up grabs the red-head's attention, and Charity looks at him, head cocked. Breathing a bit more evenly, she finally comments, "Strange seeing you here, Francis, prince of halflings or not. What brings you to this lovely little vacation spot? Surely it is not the hospitality." All the while, she retrieves her pole-arm and then works to get the guards (and the group) off the streets as quickly as possible. "We haven't much time," she adds.
