[LPF] Don't Let It Go!

[sblock=OOC]
Did we grab everything in the spoiler block?
No, not unless you write those actions.

Dragging the dead to the alley takes time and collecting weapons takes time.

However, realistically, finding the gold, the medals, and the Everburning torches would not incur additional time to acquire.[/sblock]

[section]Francis John, III - Self-Proclaimed Prince of All Halflings

Francis hurriedly grabs what he can: the medals, gold, and torches. "Hah! You have some real sass to you, I like that in a lass! But, if anyone gets to kill old Bacon, it's me. Let's head for the mountains. He could feed us for a few days if it came down to it." He pats the pig on the snout. "Isn't that right boy?" The pig smiles.

The halfling picks up his pace inland, looking up towards the mountainous horizon. He assumes the others come along too, as he thinks about what he has heard about the government in his short stay in Yarendul so far.

Along the way, he keeps his eyes open for anyone he can shake down for info or anything interesting that might help their cause.

"Good thinking, my Prince. Any mission has to be funded to be successful, hey?" Aishe nods sharply as Charity and the Halfling hash out their plan. "Aye, it's the mountains for us I think. It's not that I'm caring so much about the civilian lives, but it is them we've been hired to save. And I do what I'm payed to do... always. We need to take this fight out where the civvies won't be getting hurt."

Yosephus grabbed the gold and silver that Francis didn't get, and put it in his pack. Then he nodded to the others and said, "Yep, the mountains are the best place to go."

When the halfling and Charity talked about the pig, the cleric said, "Guys, we have our own food in our backpacks. Bacon is for an emergency."

Yosephus paused for a moment and said, "Okay, let's get our of here and to the mountains!"

~ Day 19, mid-afternoon: Ashore Yarendel ~

Looking around you, the mountains rise up with foothills literally starting at the edge of the port city. When the ship pulled into port, none saw any walls around the city. The castle keep itself was walled, but was also protected by cliffs behind it.

The city itself might have some sewers that would have emptied into the harbor, like most port towns and cities. But with the harbor being frozen, the sewers could be as well.

Charity, Human Female
Continuing to keep a good clip, Charity looks to the edge of the city. With a bit of hope, she asks, "Are we agreed upon heading out to the mountains, then? If not, we're effectively doing that, given our current course--you pretty much end up in the mountains or in the harbor, and we're not headed towards the harbor. At the bare minimum, we need a refuge where guard presence is lower."

With that, Charity's voice trails off. As the group moves, she keeps an eye out for anything that might signal a new opportunity, previously unknown.

[sblock=Actions]Charity is making sure they don't end up back towards the harbor or cut off by the caste. She keeps an eye out for anything unusual - and ears perked for anyone expressing a anti-establishment viewpoint as the group heads out of town.

Perception roll to detect evidence of other potential options: 1D20+10 = [19]+10 = 29

Nice roll. Of course it won't matter if there is nothing applicable to see or hear.[/sblock]

~ Day 19, mid-afternoon: Ashore Yarendel ~

So far the pursuit had not caught up to the fleeing adventurers, but there were shouts heard back at the scene of the battle from a few blocks away. Likely the next guards to arrive at least found plenty of blood soaked snow on the ground as evidence.

There were curious onlookers that glanced towards the sounds of commotion, but most people were not too keen on sticking around outside in the cold. Some eyed the fleeing, blood spattered adventurers with some suspicion, but made no attempt to stop them or get involved. A common reaction was for eyes to be averted and hastily move along about their business.

Most of your rolls were not very good (except Local), but I thought I provided results for it without specifically saying only Francis knew it so anyone could act on the information.

You will have no trouble finding your way out of town. But I did not provide some sucker townsperson out there for you to shakedown, obviously.

You all can post getting out of town without issue, but last I saw the discussion was not quite over even if a consensus was reached with Aishe and Yosephus. However, I should added something more about your travels from the battle scene.[/sblock]

[section]Francis John, III - Self-Proclaimed Prince of All Halflings

Francis bumps along atop his pig, hurriedly weaving his way through the city streets. As the party, now plus one (or three if you count the pig and the snake), traverse the alleys, Francis continues the conversation. "I've been in town for a few weeks, and noticed everyone was uptight and tight-lipped. So who hired you to overthrow the queen. If we are to have a proper coup d'estate, I must know all of the details!" As he rides, he notices his pig struggling from the wound incurred from the guard.

Charity, Human Female
"We had a chat with some of the people here," Charity begins, continuing to push forward and looking over her shoulder. "Tight-lipped does not even begin to cover it. Although I suspected they were not exactly happy, something keeps them from telling us what is going on. A haphazard guess says increased guard presence and periodic yelling of 'rebel!' keeps the local populace in line. There may be quite a few arrests and a rather full dungeon."

"We can get into even more details, Francis. However, I'd like to concentrate on making our escape for now." Emerald eyes looking forward, Charity speaks barely above a whisper, "This is worse than we were led to believe."

[sblock=Actions]Still heading out of town, and then we'll have to figure out how to elude pursuit. One step at a time.[/sblock]
