M3: Assassin's Knot (Patlin judging)

Eanos starts at the noise and moves for the door, saying low, "Either that's Rinaldo and he could use the distraction of 'concerned Inn guests,' or there really are assassins, and Rinaldo may be needing an entirely different kind of help."

With that, he opens the door and moves out into the hallway, making for the noise.

[SBLOCK]"Assassin? I'm insulted." Rinaldo decides that Abraham would better to shut up as soon as possible, and so take his sap and attack the man. "Sorry."[/SBLOCK]

I'll get a map up here in a moment for everyone else.

Rinaldo: [sblock]Abraham is wearing a long nightshirt and a nightcap. How is Rinaldo's Abraham dressed? I need to know this to set up the encounter for the others.

Rinaldo advances and swings his sap. He is surprised how quickly Abraham reacts, slashing out with his sword with both hands. Rinaldo barely manages loosing his head, and still takes a gash in his shoulder through his leather. (Rinaldo takes 11 dmg) Rinaldo swings his sap, which does hit the unarmored innkeeper, but seems to do little damage (2 pts).

Abraham is the larger man, and sturdily built, and evidently a capable combatant.[/sblock]

Mordik follows behind the party, keeping up, but attempting to be silent and unseen.

totally off topic: [sblock]I have to wait on one more post by Velmont before I can continue. so....Fahferd was captured by bandits. He was chained to a rock by the river and would soon drown, as the river was rising. Grey mouser searched frantically for him, but by the time he found him, the water was up to his eyebrows, and had been for half an hour. Yet, miraculously, Fahferd was still alive. How can this be?[/sblock]

[SBLOCK]The only Abraham I know, the one with the red jacket Rinaldo will try a one last shot, that time fenting and attack. Bluff: 27, Attack: 21, Damage:5, Sneak:5 If that doesn't work (why I have the feeling it won't drop Abraham. Damn bad sneak roll) Rinaldo will double move outside. If he has a chance to do it out of sight of anyone but his friend, he will turn back into Rinaldo (using the magic of the hat to hide his wounds), bluffing that he have spotted the false Abraham and telling "Hey sir Abraham why have you shout? Where are you going?"[/SBLOCK]
