Martial Artist Feats

A couple of new feats I came up with, for people who want to make monks or pugilists or something.

Heroic
Martial Artist
Prerequisites: Str 13, Wis 13
Benefit: Your unarmed attacks gain a +1 proficiency bonus to attack roll. Your unarmed attack damage die increases by one size.

Paragon
Master Martial Artist
Prerequisites: Str 17, Wis 15
Benefit: Your unarmed attacks gain a +2 proficiency bonus to attack rolls. Treat your unarmed attacks as high crit weapons.

Epic
Legendary Martial Artist
Prerequisites: Str 21, Wis 17
Benefit: Your unarmed attacks gain a +3 proficiency bonus to attack rolls. When you make an unarmed attack you can score a critical hit on a natural roll of 19 or 20.

I'm not sure whether it's a good idea to both grant the proficiency bonus and the extra cookie but since unarmed attacks start out quite weak it might still be fine. Since unarmed attacks won't get any magical enhancement bonuses they will probably not become too strong anyway.

I would be more inclined to think along the lines of something like this:

Heroic
Unarmed Combatant
Benefit: Unarmed attacks are not considered to be improvised melee weapons. Instead, they give you a +2 proficiency bonus, do 1d6 damage and have the versatile property.

Paragon
Unarmed Mastery
Prerequisites: Str 13, Dex 13, Unarmed Combatant
Benefit: Unarmed attacks now have a +3 proficiency bonus, do 1d8 damage and are still have the versatile property.

The second one might be a little weak, but I think the first is decent.

But that doesn't help a creature that is larger than medium, and makes halfling martial arts just as strong as medium-sized ones. I also wonder about the benefit of versatile unarmed attacks?

Halflings already do the same damage with unarmed attack as all other races. I think it's fair to keep it that way. Real life example of martial arts that are best used against larger foes: Ju-Jitsu (spelling?).

Ok, so the halflings get the same damage as everyone else. But what about an ogre brawler? My feats are elegant and scales up for larger creatures. That makes them superior. :)
