Well, I have started planning my game. As a quick note, though, some colors don't view to well in stealth or other styles. I'm using RED for my entry.

DM: Psion

SLOT: Afternoon

GAME: Margin Call (Working title) - A T20 adventure set in the Gateway Domain.

TEASER: The crew of a small starship hires on for a little foray out of Imperial space to help make ends meet. But the results of their trip turn out to be more than they bargained for. (Yes, this is a typical Traveller yarn; more details TBA.)

NUMBER OF PLAYERS: 4-6

NUMBER OF OPEN PLAYER SLOTS: 6

PC TYPES/LEVELS: Pre-generated levels 5-9

GAME RATINGS (SCALE OF 1 - 10):
  • Action = 5
  • Role-Playing = 6
  • Puzzles/Mystery = 7

MATURITY RATING: PG-13 (For some tense scenes. ;) )

SPECIAL NOTES: This game will be a D20 Traveller ("T20") game set in the standard Traveller Imperium setting. Traveller is a game of adventure set in the far future, in and around a human-dominated empire called the Imperium. The adventure will use infomation presented in the Gateway to Destiny setting book.

Pre-generated characters will be provided. As this is not a formal company sponsored event, I will be using a few tweaks (primarily to Chargen.)

Familiarity with T20 or some other version of Traveller is helpful but not required. Character sheets will list as much information as possible to play the game. Those not familiar with Traveller note: combat is very much more deadly than the d20 norm. Though combat is possible, investigation and problem-solving are more the normal tenor for the game. The adventure will be written to introduce players to various aspects of the T20 rules.

When responding to the sign-up (once opened), please indicate your level of familiarity with Traveller and preferences for character types. Those not familiar with T20 can check out the free T20 lite rules here.

Space Update...

It looks like we are going to go with the Prince George's Room as our base, with expansion options into several other spaces for overflow gaming unless this thing gets really huge. Assuming 6-7 tables for EN Worlders per game slot, that gives us initial space for 36-42 DMs/players per slot, with some overflow capacity.

We will keep our eyes on the roll-call thread and see if we really charge over that number.

If you HAVEN'T stopped by the roll-call thread (see my sig below), please do so ASAP so we can keep a running count.

Thanks!

PS - Go Blue Devils :D!

Fine then. We'll have two badges: terps and lepers. Your choice. :p

Seriously though, couple updates. Turns out the SGA doesn't like us using money from last year for an event in the following year, so that kinda sucks. On a positive note the funding provided by our generous donors, combined with some line-item changes from TGC, should be sufficient to handle our expenses.

At the moment we have the Margaret Brent Room and the PG Room rented. Together they are capable of holding 15 tables, which translates to about 90 people (6 tables in MB, 9 tables in PG, 6 people per table). So let's plan for that. We may be able to get a new room which will be adjacent to the PG Room, but they're not sure whether or not that'll actually be ready in time. If it is, TGC should be able to cover the expense.

So here's how it looks right now:

TERPCON
Where: Stamp Student Union, University of Maryland\
Rooms: PG Room & Margaret Brent Room
When: Saturday, September 25, 2004. 8AM - 12AM

Schedule:
8:00 AM - Union Opens
8:30 AM - Morning GM Arrival & Preparation
9:00 AM - Morning Sessions Being
2:00 PM - Morning Sessions End, Lunch
3:00 PM - Lunch Ends, Afternoon Sessions Begin
8:00 PM - Afternoon Sessions End, Open Gaming Begins
12:00 AM - Open Gaming Ends, People Leave
12:30 AM - Stragglers Executed
1:00 AM - Union Closes

We will most likely be engaging in pre-registration.

Also, is anyone interested in some kind of PvP Tournament of Champions?

Can I sign up for the Midnight Straggler Execution without being considered a Straggler? Is that possible?

All joking aside...you guys are doing a great job. Absolutely marvelous! Thank you very much for everyone's time and effort.

Also, something else for the sign-up process...

Are we doing it as 'first come, first serve'? I don't disagree with holding slots for fellow EnWorlders we might want to game with but I do disagree with a first-come, first-serve policy. I just wanted to toss the idea that if the person in charge of sign-up gets more people for a game then it can hold, then a raffle should be employed.

Just two more cents to even if up to something a little random.
