Maiteliant: I had been thinking of entering a character something like this- only I was going to try to find a way to work a powerful human magic-user of good alignment into the story of the third age.

The Maw of the Deep: Creepy, almost cthulian- but very appropriate for middle earth.

I've always loved the idea that Tolkien wrote into his works that there are many foul creatures and much magic in his world that exists beyond the scope of his works... pouring over a map of Middle Earth, or his histories, or a one-line description of a remote, unexplored realm of his world, this feeling hits you hard. I've only seen one role-playing setting that strikes me with the same feeling...

I'm glad Gru thought to post this poll, because I never would have thought of it.

I also want to take the opportunity to let everyone know that Gru has been indefatigable in keeping the MEd20 conversion site up and running, and for coming up with the contest. He's gone above and beyond what most would do. So let's give him a tip of the hat.

Congratulations to Michael Rooney for his winning entry - the Maw of the Deep - in the Middle Earth d20 Conversion Site NPC contest!

We also want to thank Morrus for sponsoring the contest, not to mention giving the conversion site a home.

I just posted a thread about this; I couldn't find this one. Looks like it got bimped up to the front page just as I went looking for it on pages 4 and 5.
