Just a note to confirm that I'll be the DM for the final round of the OAD&D tournament at Milwaukee Gamefest. The convention runs from Friday 1 through Sunday 3 August in the old GenCon site, the Midwest Express Center.

If you attend and don't play in the tournament, look me up at the Hekaforge booth--or outside having a smoke I'll be pleased to chat and/or autograph books for all.

Why don't you come down to Archon in St. Louis and run something? Please, Please, Please!!!! To actually play a game run by EGG...I'm getting light headed thinking about it.

How exactly do you play a tournament? Is it pc's vs pc's or who earns the most xp for kills and ideas etc???

All I can say about the material for the tournament is that I had a hand in writing it some time back. The setting is detailed and requires some fair amopunt of thinking and problem solving in the hack & slash main course.

Gary Gygax 1st Edition D&D Tournament (Round-1) 1st Edition D&D ME-396 Open Intermediate

It’s time to go OLD SCHOOL! A 1st Edition D&D Tournament hosted by Gary Gygax. There will be 6 tables, each with a group of 5 players. There will be a stack of characters sheets to choose from. The first hour will the choosing of characters and getting into groups (role-playing encouraged). There will be 3 rounds of elimination’s with the winning group of the 3rd round playing the final chapter of the adventure with Guest GM Gary Gygax. Prizes to be announced.

MILWAUKEE GAMEFEST Update

I've just had confirmed that the final round of the OAD&D tournament at the conventin will be a foray into CASTLE WOLFMOON, so that also a "sneak peek" at that super module.

Also, I am told there will be a 2E tournament run there as well.

Looks as if this is going to be a sort of "Nostalgia Con" after all
