[MnM]Awakenings(OOC)

I really like the charcter concept Tokiwong, yours as well Corinth. Those really fit in to what I am looking for in a character. Its also the way I'd like all characters handled. A detailed History and Personality, followed by some thoughts on powers, thats exactly how I wanted it. Tokiwong, Keia, Calinon, and Corinth each get a nice piece of pie. If everyone else does so well this is going to be a rather tough choice.

I would like to rvise my time table though. By Friday all I want is your character concept, That way I can judge it just on the character, and not be influenced on the stats by whether or not I like how the Stats are since such things can, and most likely will change. It also gives us time before to discuss how we will be handling everything before anyone is put on the spot about their stats.

I think you just need to more fully explain the parts where we are coming into conflict is it the backgrounds or the powers oir what? It may just be a lack of communication
Good point. You tend to make a lot of those. Bare in mind that I am trying not to give away too much. The average human is around about PL 2 or so, the average soldier is between PL 3-5, depending on a variety of factors, like experience, armament, etc. I guess my problem was in not really thinking abour how high a PL I would be placing you guys at. From looking at the different things I have written, it looks like I might have to bump you power level down a bit, to bring you into line with being just a bit tougher then the average person. If I did bump you down it would probably be to PL 5 or possibly 6. I guess 1 major thing to keep in mind is no one else has powers, you guys are it, everyone else are just humans with a bit of equipment, like a gun, or maybe some light body armor, things like that. Mutants and masterminds, as a system is based more around fighting other super powered individuals, so I guess thats where my problem is, I know we can overcome that, but it will take a bit of effort.

sounds good Shal makes sense now
I think we can all agree that at PL8 when your fight PL 3 or 4 opponents, any power is going to be a bit too much. The combinations of powers when taking into a count what your facing is just plain nasty. Take Void for example, his Anhillation power. Its truly that, he could strip everyone in an area of all of their abilities since they are all device based, and his power would destroy all device based abilities assuming that it wouldn't just out right kill all of the opponents.

Looking for more 4-color type power ideas. Like a speedster, a brick, a mentalist, and maybe a blaster, something along those lines, or that would fit in well with that.

I'm faced with a bit of a problem with some of the characters, and I don't think its any of your faults, I guess, I just wasn't clear enough, and that is entirely my fault. The Characters that are presented so far have simply but a bit tooo much, I'm not insinuating that you are trying to sqeeze in every drop of power that you can wring out of the system, but there is a bit too much power in what is there.

Hmmm... well 1+1 =2, so I conclude that my concept may be a bit not enough devellop, and my power a bit too strong.

I'll stay with it unless I think of something better (or detail it if I think of something else). Anyway, what the worst can happen, that I must wait for the next game...

got two ideas right now, busy with that life thing but I'll post em later today.
I guess if normal humans should still be a danger pl5 or 6 would be better. With 8 you are allready far above them.

Yeah at PL 8 PL 3 and PL 4 are fodder at best, just mild speed bumps, so at PL 6 that should be good, still easy but not so much, and numbers could jack you up

This is a very good guide as far as stats are concerned. Compare yours to it to see if your ability scores are what really fits the character, this benchmarks PDF got the nod of approval from the game designers so the guy who did it certainly knew his stuff.

So, to have a clear idea of what you search, you want to have a X-men power-like team, but maybe a little less powerfull in the strength of their powers. Something more like iceman in the movie, and maybe less wolverine.

If you want something less powerfull, I suggest you to go down to PL6. I'm looking at the present character I have build. Ok, Int 20, Computer +21 and Alternate Form 8 are three strong abilities. I can cut down many things to make more in the power level you are thinking, but I finally end with one problem, I would too much points.

Edited: Look at the new version of my character, I made it PL5 and I feel it mopre in the lines of what you want to see. Am I right. He is a bright guy (Int 16), ac computer crack (Computer +13) and his powers are strong, but it will be not enough against a well armed soldier (Alternate form lvl 5 into water, stunt:ice/steam). I was trying to make it PL6, but I feel he would have been a bit too strong in his fields, and I can hardly see why he would have some BAB as he had lived his whole life in front of a computer or swimming in the sea.

What do you think of that, is it more something like that you want?
