Yes and No.

Yes, there is as many players than there is slot, maybe even more, BUT:

No, there is no player yet in this game, as there will be 4 or 5 player that will be chosed by Shalimar this week-end. He will choose the players depending of you background, so submit a background by Friday, with a description of your wanted powers (they havn't manifested yet). You can do his stats, but it is not a necessity.
I think Shalimar is a woman but just my guess... are we making characters now?

Your guess would be right, although since I told you I'm a girl before, I don't think that its too much of a strech for you to be right.

As t the second part, If I have said I liked your Character History/ Concept, go ahead and do the stats. PL6, unless we run into something that would preclude that. I put up 00023's stat block so that everyone could see one example of the type of stats we are reaching towards.

She is obviously insect themed, and she sticks very tightly to that, the only powers she has are powers that an insect would have. While she could be much more tough, she isn't, because she wasn't built to wring as much power out of the system as she could be. She is only a teen-ager after all, at most you guys should have a 1 or a 2 for attack bonus, from your stories you guys should be spending skill points on things like computers etc.

Would I be correct in assuming this one is full? If not I would be interested.

Type up a good Character concept, by tomorrow night and you have just as much of getting in the game as anyone else. Its the character concept that I want first, the characters history, what their life was like, what their personality is, etc. Once I say I approve or like your concept, you can put up your stats. On friday night, I will take the best 4 or 5 concepts as the players in my game.

Samir Maghreb
Nationality: Israel
Known Language: French, Englidh, Hebrew

Background:
Born in Israel, Samir have lived in a palestinian ghetto near a Isrealite colony. His father was working, trying to win enough to allow his wife and five children to survive. They were eating barely enough. Samir grow in the streets of the ghetto, as many kids, as there was no schools for them. He had to steal to have enough foods and to pay the taxes claimed by the stronger kids.

But his life changed when the bomb explode. The panic had taken over the ghetto, the israelite army would soon march on the ghetto to supress the riot which was starting, to make prisoners and to have a revenge over their fallen friends. Samir's father, being more reasonnable than most, gather fastly his family and flee in the desert. The family successfully reach the Palestinian territory, but not without falling first on an ambush. Samir's brother was hurt, he sister was capture and his mother killed.

As only the three men of the family survived the trip, they join the Palestinian troops, so they would be able to avenge the death of the mother and maybe free the sister. They would have food too. He was train as an ammo carrier, as at his young age he couldn't be a good figther. They teach each some basic of war, but mainly to stay out of trouble during combat. He trained for months before he was send to his first mission, and most of the time, he was taken out of combat when possible. The war was raging for more than three years when he was sent to a mission to demoralize the enemy. It was at that moment the first sign of the plague was shown in the camp. As he left soon, he was lucky not to be infected. They sucessfully sabotaged a clothing factory for militaries and when they came back, they were told to stay away from the camp and wait orders, and so the small group hide into some cavern, waiting the orders.

Isolated from the world, except by a radio, they lost contact with the camp in the first week. They had to do some skirmishing to be able to survive a long time, as They didn't received any new order during that times. Two men left to got news during that month, but they never came back. After some times, the travellers were more rare and there was no more food left, so they start to travel back to the camps to found an american expedition. They were all stunned by the news of the plague, that it had killed so many people in a so small amount of time. Samir learned that his father and brother was killed by the plague.

Samir left the camp and tried to go back in Israel territory to find his sister. By some mircale, after a year of search, he finally found her. She was isolated in a prison which didn't contract the plague and even if most of the prisoners had died from the food shortage, some had survived and she was of them. They both lived on scavenging during a whole year when the american came back in Israel. They were taking everyone to America for some vaccination. After that, they were intergrated to the new city called Hope. Her sister was placed on a farm, as an helper. Too young to start to work,Samir was place in a school. He was learning some technical knowledge, aminly about farming technology, and so he was able to work at part time at the same farm than his sister, and so he was able to maintain a contact with her. He was an helper, at first carrying objects and taking care of the basic needs, then, with his formation, repairing and maintaining the technological equipement.

Four years has passed, the farm have grown much, tripling their size, making ten times more food than in the first years, and they were planing to do more with the new installations financed by the Fed-Com. Samir was progressing and had almost finish his formation in agricultural technology when one day, a military group arrived at the farm and ask Samir and his sister to follow them. They were sent to the city where some of their blood was taken. His sister was released after some days, but he had to stay longuer. Two day after that, he was taken to a chamber where was his new cryogenic bed.

Description & Personnality:
Samir come from the middle-east and have most of the common traits of that region. He is a bit smaller than the average, as he didn't had enough food in his youth, but his months of training and war put in in a pretty good shape.

Having suffered from war, having lost almost all his family, he is tired to fight. He want to leave peacefully. At the same time, he would be ready to take back the weapons if the life of his sister and his friends were in danger. Having followed order all his life, he is not a really good leader and prefer to follow someone which have gain his trust. He is a loyal guy and would not betray anyone, as he have learn from the war, the most precious thing you have in the world, his your teammate.

Powers:
An electrical field is glowing in permanence around him. Anything that he touch can be damage by it. Any electrical object can suffer an overload as long as he touch it. While overloading, the object is innefective. If he touch a person, he may be stun as the electricity will overload his neural system. Finally, the little control he have over the field allow him to expand it to an area around him for a brief moment, possibly harming everyone around him.

Velmont, except for some story problems, its fine. Just one or two things about that stats to discuss.

Samir is between 5 and 7 when the Bomb goes off starting the war, so it is very very very highly unlikely that he would be trained as a soldier, a message runner, an ammo carrier, or something of that ilk is a little more plausible. Accompanying a group of soldiers is fine, and it works as to not getting infected, however, The plague didn't come around until the third year of the war. So he would be between 8 and 10 at the time the plague came around.
Its then another 2 years until the Vaccine is perfected, so that would make him between 10 and 12.

One other thing, The vaccine did not leave the United States, everyone who was vaccinated was vaccinated in Washington DC. The people who were vaccinated first, the survivors in the United States, then went about finding groups of other survivors and bringing them to hope, starting in North America and then working outward eventually getting to Australlia last.

Schooling is not optional, all students would attend to a minimum if 16, but if they so chose, they were able to work part time, searching through cities that were near for resources to be used to fuel the building of Hope. Farming was not too terribbly a critical need actually. Looking at current farm technology, the process can be run by a very small amount of people relying heavily on machines. The process is mostly automated. You can choose to be one of the human helpers on a farm, that would work.

I'd just like to reiterate that the Benchmarks PDF is the guide that we are going by for our Stats as it gives us all the same exact idea of what certain numbers mean. Looking at the listing, we learn that a BAB of 4 is about that of a very experienced soldier, (incidentally, thats more then the soldiers in this campaign), so it is a bit too high for a 15 year-old, a BAB of 2 would be about right for the background you describe.

I would suggest against the permanent flaw to your energy field, as it will be a very real hinderance, but if your willing to put up with that, and believe me, it will be a doozy of a flaw if its going to be permanently on, it'll be more of a hinderance then a help, I'd suggest dropping your BAB to 2 and using those 6pp to buy off that flaw, the rest of your character is fine, more then fine. One or two skills are not what I would have picked, but the reasoning behind them is sound, so its fine, and I must say I like the character, have a piece of pie.

Adjusted Josiah to PL 6 and stream-lined the character overall. Let me know what you think. :)

If we have a lot of good character concepts, and it seems like we do and it will be a tough decision, then power redundancy will count against you, especially, since you are stepping on the powers of 2 of the better concepted characters. Super strength will be the purview of Connor McGregor, and Super-speed the area of Tokiwongs character. Also, regeneration just doesn't really fit in to your character, as far as I see the characters theme, if you truly want it, then you'll have to buy it as a feat, rapid healing, including its prerequisites.

You should also note, that the super-dex wont apply to all of your DEX skills, as its weakness is only while shrinking, some skills, your size does not matter, in other skills, it matters highly. To get your full +5, you would have to have shrunk to the limits of PL5 shrinking, about 2 feet tall. 2 feet tall is no good for driving, not very good for slight of hand either, as most slight of hand is based around distraction, and hiding something with a part of your body, quite frankly, in both cases, your body wont be big enough to make full use of itself for those skills.

If your aiming for an insectoid theme, go more along the lines of 00023, if not, then I have no clue what theme you are going for from your powers, and thats rather bad as the theme should be tight enough that its evident as soon as a I see them.

Man this was a tough decision but as I was walking to do my laundry... I realized that in the next few weeks, well under three I will be back in the States, and I will have a ton of things I will be doing outside of PBP gaming, and I just don't think I will have the time to do all my games justice, so I will bow out, I like the concept of the game, but I just don't want to be swamped, especially when I get home, and I have more to do then just post :)
