Monster Manual III

Monster Manual 2 is Cartwright. Anyone who doesn't have a need for Phoenix, Sirine, and Moonrats in their campaign is a sinner.

That being said, Fiend Folio is even more awesome.

If they have dinosaurs in Monster Manual 3, I severely hope they list stats for actual dinosaurs like Stegosarui and Brontosauri instead of just making :):):):) up.

Stegosaur and diplodocus were in Dragon #318, so I doubt they'll show up in the MM3 already.

Tarril, thanks for the list! :) None of these sounds immediately familiar, and they don't seem to be from "official" sources I have.
And, "Petal?" Interesting choice for an opponent...

I'd assume that the Eberron non-scientific name dinosaurs are actual dinosaurs given regional names for the campaign setting, since from what I've heard the standard dinosaurs are given non-Greek/Latin names. The battletitan, for instance, is probably a sauropod of some sort and the swindlespitter could easily be a Jurassic Park style dilophosaurus.

That said, it looks like there will be a lot of extraplanar creatures in MMIII, almost rivalling FF in number. Let's just hope they finally bring yugoloths up to the standards of the 3.5 demons and devils.

Demiurge out.

Since that'd mean giving the existing yugoloths (from MotP and MMII) more than just the cursory update in the 3.5E update booklet, I doubt it. What we may finally see though will be the yugoloth subtype.

MM3 Creatures from the Eberron Chapter about the Planes:
Justicator, Visilight, Sorrowsworn (demon), Ephemeral Swarm, Plague Brush, Cinder Swarm, Conflagration Ooze, Harssaf, Phoelarch, Zezir, Lumi, Quaraphon, Avalancher, Battlebriar, Dust Wight, Gulgar, Wood Woad, Woodling Creatures, Gloom Golem, Necronaut, Trilloch, Vasuthant, Yugoloth (new), Chraal, Rejkar, Snowflake Ooze, Arrow Demon, Deathshrieker, Mivilorn, Ragewalker, Shredstorm, Prismatic Golem, Petal, Shimmerling Swarm, Thorn, Odopi, Shrieking Terror, Voidmind Creatures

The only old creatures I recognize are Yugoloths (though no specific subraces mentioned) and Trillochs. Arrow Demon I remember coming from an issue of dragon, I saw Web Golem mentioned in the catalogue blurb which is also something that was in Dragon. And it seems we got a lot of plants this time.

What I really meant was that the new 'loths would have comparable stats and abilities for their challenge ratings, as the MMII and MoTP 'loths were pretty sad.

Well, I know the yugoloths, but excluded them because there were no subkinds mentioned. Trillochs are also in the Creature Catalog.
I think you might confuse the arrow demons with the battleloths? These creatures were yugoloths that were based on weapons... maybe these guys are in the MM3.
There was indeed a web golem in Dragon #302, and that issue had quite a number of other constructs.

I really approve of the trilloch's inclusion in the MM3. It's one of the few old skool monsters that hasn't yet been updated that I really miss- it's not 'just another ____ [fill in goblinoid, dragon, ooze or other common monster type with multiple iterations]' or 'another improved grab monster' or something. It's really, truly different. Although I don't know that I've actually used one since 1e, if it's in the MM3 I'll make a point of it!

I have a wierd feeling that the MoF monsters might get a longer, art using update in MM3, but that's just a guess, and it's not borne out by the planar monster's list from Eberron (no abashai, ghour etc)
