Sadly, my collection of White Dwarf does not go back to issue 10, where the dahdi comes from. You wouldn't happen to have that one, would you? If so, is it possible to get the entire entry on the dahdi? I am really tempted to use this.

i'll check when i get home. ;)

Uh. Nope. I gave you the benifit of the doubt, but now I've got the book in front of me. It ain't in there. Sorry. :)

The others you mention certainly are, however... :uhoh:

Huh. Where is it from then? I know I'm not making it up... or hope I'm not lol.

Currently buried in storage somewhere, so I'll have to do it from memory (no promise of accuracy, but you'll have to redo most of this for 3e anyway).

AC: 3 (same as a mummy)
HD: 5+1 (or thereabouts; less than a mummy's anyway)
#Attacks: 1
Damage: 1d12 (same as a mummy, but no disease)
Special abilities: Only damaged by non-magical weapons. Flaming oil is reflected back at the attacker. Holy water is turned into flaming oil and reflected back at the attacker (2d6 damage). Fire spells reflected back at caster. Normal water does damage as holy water (i.e. 2d4; not transmuted to oil). When defeated, its bandages can be used to apply a cure disease spell with 1d4+1 turns.

I believe it had some weird turn resistance, in that low level clerics could turn it easily but high level ones couldn't. Can't remember the details.

If that's even 50% accurate I'm a bigger geek than I thought :p

Do you have the White Dwarf issue introducing the flind? I'd love to get the issue #, author name, and maybe even a sentence/paragraph of original description.

oops, i forgot. my collection of White Dwarfs got recycled. :(

a couple years ago my parents cleaned out the attic. they got rid of some of my collection. Imagine, Dragon, White Dwarf, Poly...

all gone.

i've got some of my referee notes. i'll dig thru those and see what i can find.

The author of the Flind is J.D. Morris. It was published in Fiend Folio, but so far I've been unable to locate an earlier appearance in a White Dwarf issue...

Cool, thanks. How do you know that?

In any case, I've never subscribed to WD so I only know about this secondhand. Gary Gygax wrote:
The flind is not my creation, it was done by a Brit, and first apeared in White Dwarf magazine, then in the Fiend Folio.
