[Mordheimel] The Nekromancer

dreamthief

First Post
After the mathematician leaves with the pouch of gold on the table, the barmaid Yeena hurriedly comes over. New busy ness iz it, fine sirs? Surely you would wish to celebrate with a drinkie? Or some food? A roast boar perhaps? And some nice wine; only two crowns!

You survey others in the room, wondering who you might want to hire to aid you in your job. At present there are the following:

Skurm, Half-Orc Barbarian, who wields a rune-covered spear. Strong, temperemental, and not always obedient, but too stupid to be disloyal, or so they say. Can get carried away with his bloodthirsty ness. Costs about 15gp for a short-term 'job'.

Mrik, Dwarf Axer. Lives and breathes axes. He will hurl his throwing axes before engaging the enemy. Precise and clinical. Costs about 10 gp as well but might want to split treasure.

Skarl, Female Halfling slingshot. Can swear like a man. Deadly accurate. Rumoured to have taken the balls off a man once who made a rude joke about her. Enjoys mooning enemies. Costs: about 10 gp.

Myrmikan Human Pikesman: Seems to be a new guy. Not too bad with his halberd though. Cost: Probably about 6 gp.

Negos Human Crossbowman: Not a bad shot. Quite experienced. Never wants to get close to his targets. Has a scar above his right eye. Cost: About 10 gp.

Sprag Skaven Swordsman: Uses short sword and shield. Quite bold. Rumoured to know some magic as well.
Cost: about 12 gp.

There's a bunch of other riff raff in the building, but these are the ones you know whose weapon arms are for hire.

You can go it alone of course... but no gurantees. ;) The character for your target has been set, and won't change.

Verrazzio opening post

Verrazzio smiles the smile of a man on the make and nods at Yeena.
"I make it simple, mia bella. Bring us a bottle of that wine for the table, eh? And get something nice for yourself."
Turning back to the group at the table, he grins wolfishly.
"The good professores in this town, they are not so good, I think. But very profitable for us, I see."
He rubs his palms together briskly for a moment, then flexes his fingers.
"And now to you I introduce myself. I am Verrazzio Cavalli, sole survivor of the Geltenjaeger warband. If you have not guessed from my blades, I know when and how to fight. If you have not guessed from my being a survivor, I know when not to fight too. And that is me."
Bright black eyes sweep about the table, examining everyone in turn.
"And now what is you?"

T'Kran clasps his hands together and rubs them eagerly; his face breaks into a rodent grin. Yes, yes, man-thing. Very profitable. Teacher pay well. T'Kran Grimclaw kill necromancer. Ambush man-thing in alley, shoots it from roof. T'Kran hisses. He then reaches into a steel tube fixed to his harness, and withdraws a sealed flask filled with a clear liquid. He no cast if burn-burn. Verrazzio block one alley, more block other. Perhaps we hire warrior? Small price for other sword to kill-kill necromancer.

Autumn turns to look at her "friends" her slit eyes and red pupels are enough to stop most people in thier tracks. let alone her small rams horns and the tail. Dressed in brown leathers and sporting a wicked pointed tooth smile she says Well sugar, i'm here on the nazy hole because of the bazzuzu that dropped me here on my tail. I'm just trying to et out again. I'm hoping to find a forest of a more interesting city. She is absently feeding scraps of meat to the raven on her shoulder. You can call me Autumn and my friend here is Poe. She shifts in her seat and it is obvious that she as never known how to be the least lady like.

Verrazzio II

Verazzio raises one eyebrow at the raven. And the woman...well, sort of.
He's been too well trained in ettiquette to make his feelings obvious, but he fixes his gaze on T'kran as a relatively sane and normal thing.
"Perhaps we should go look at the place before we consider plans, no?"

Yeena leaves a bottle of red wine on the table and withdraws, well tipped for her trouble. Verazzio draws a thin stiletto from his left boot and deftly pulls the cork with a twisting flick of his wrist.
"A toast to fortune and to success, then, before we set off."
He glances over his shoulder at the silent fourth member of the party and proffers a full cup.
"And maybe the good vino will move you to speak, eh?"
He sets his tongue firmly in his cheek for all to see, winking, then pours T'Kran and Autumn a glass each.

Mmmm. Many thanks Verazzio. Autumn bends over the table a bit to toast her new friend, showing a bit to much cleavage for good taste. She looks at the Skaven and smiles. I agree that we need to check out the spot first. do any of you have any informaion about the area? what gangs are there? Poe hops from her shoulder and flies up into the rafters. He is obviously keeping watch on the group.

"to fortune and succes" speaks the halfing from just above the table. I'm fid quickfeed, please call me fid. I'm hoping to find myself a good job to make money. pleased to meet you all. looks around in the bar to see what kind of people there are in the bar. listens to the table next closest to him if he can hear something interesting

The barmaid delivers the wine. It tastes strongly of smoked wood, but the alcohol content is substantial.

The patrons of the bar are some of the toughest around. Merchants, mercenaries, dockworkers, sailors and some people you can't place.

Sintius, a warpriest wielding a warhammer approaches the table. "Did I spy you doing some trade? Might you need my skills and spells?" His armor is coated with patches of rust. "With my blessings no enemy can stand in your way!"

--------------------
The 'hit zone' is near the District of Flowers, not the most appropiate for an area filled with brothels and prostitutes. The brothels have their own gangs (called 'Flower-gangs' though their methods aren't too pretty) patrolling around, ensuring that their customers are not harassed. However, the area certainly is quite large as the members of the city enjoy the pleasures of the flesh. The street is a relatively quiet one, with buildings on either side that are slums. Some of these have windows facing the alleyway, and clotheslines are draped across. Water drips down constantly and the surface of the alley is quite wet. You do not know the inhabitants of the buildings on either side, of course.

Right now, you have options to either hire, find out more, or jump straight in to 'staking' out the area for the victim.

T'Kran grimaces at this pathetic human swill called wine. He looks up at the annoying "warpriest." Perhaps, man-thing. Yet we no hate-hate spies like you. How much you cost, man-thing?

T'Kran stares at the eavesdropper. He was clearly listening to their offer, and would likely inform the Nekromancer if not in company with the group. An enemy. T'Kran knew how to deal with enemies, and it did not involve peaceful negotiations. He would be disposed of later.
