Most likable PrC

Uhm scue me? I just said I DIDN'T like MOST of them. People want an opinion, I gave it.

He asked what you liked, not to hear your bitch-ing. On boards that are less civilized they call what you did 'thread crapping'.

Most of the really fun ones have been mentioned, Alienist, Arcane Trickster, etc. I like ALL the Ninja PrCs, from Dragon mag and others. Also the Commander, from Wheel of Time, is a great concept. The one i'd really love to play is a Blood Witch (R&R I). Theres just something about grappling a guy and draining his CON to double Empower a Fireball at his friends without upping the spell slot.

As soon as I opened up T&B I wanted to play a Fate Spinner... I just think they're pretty cool....

the other PrC I wanted to play was a Lasher but my g/f beat me to it (and frankly does a better job with that class than I even could)...

would like to try an Legendary Class at some stage... could be alot of high-powered fun...

:D

I'm partial to the master of intuitive archery.

What's that, you say? You've never heard of it?

Oh, this is a thread about PUBLISHED PrCs. Does self-published count? On a web page? Well, ABOUT to be on a web page?

Oh, well, never mind then. :)

Published PrCs I like: blade dancer, spellsword, ninja spy, deepwood sniper, singh rager (powered down a bit).

I really like the Sacred Exorcist and Knight Protector.

I think it'd be really fun to play a Knight of the Chalice sometime but the class is so focussed, I can't really see the character participating in most campaigns.

The PrCs I'd most want to play, in no particular order:

Soulknife (revised)
Dragonscribe (although I've developed my own dragon mage which I like much better)
Weapon Master (for a Samurai)
Bladesinger
Blade Dancer
Shintao Monk
War Wizard of Cormyr
Dragon Swordmaster (from Rokugan)
Order of the Bow Initiate
Tempest
Acolyte of the Fist

Shapeshifter and Oozemaster just have that supreme fantasy feel- guys that just melt into something else.

Elemental Savant is cool. Well, many of the things mentioned on this thread strike me as cool.

Assassin is nice, but a little to much of the evil mystic-ninja.

WoT Commander was great enough in concept to give me hours of fun thinking about how to build a simple enough mass combat system to make a commander class more worwhile. I don't believe in level-assigned wealth, henchmen, and whatnot. And those seemed to be key 'powers' of the class. So for a theoretical class I vote that one high too.

IF I wasn`t the eternal GM in all the groups I play with

IF there was a Scarred Lands group around here, where I live, besides the one I`m gming.

IF a paladin would fit in this group

I would go for the Golden Knight PrC from the Ghelspad HC. A paladin PrC with heavy emphasis on healing.

Psion, I didn't see this in your review - what's the split in Masters of Arms between 5 and 10 level PrCs?

All of the classes are 10 levels. However, the flexibility of the classes give them a sort of "take what you want and leave" feel, so they feel a bit like the shorter classes (I wouldn't recommend extending them into epic levels, for example.)

Also, if you don't mind, could you give a little more info on the precision sword master?

It's focusses on the use of a single sword with no use of a weapon in the off hand. As with all of the classes in the book, which exact abilities it gets are up to you, but most notably, it has an iajutsu-duel / psychic duel like manuever, precision manuevers (such as one that lets you called "normal hits are for thugs" that lets you increase your threat range, but if you do not get a critical, you miss altogether) and manuevers that let you expend AC points gained from expertise to activate defensive manueers.

Thanks, Psion!

I've been looking for a good "fighting styles" book. Path of the Sword looked ok, but it didn't really jump out at me. From your description, I think Masters of Arms might be just what I'm looking for.
