What of Terra Australis, Atlantis, The Kingdom of Johann Presbyter, The Kingdom of Sheba, The Kingdom of Zimbabwe, El Dorado, Xanadu, New York - all places which even if they had real world conteparts were embroidered with myth and fancy.

oh and of course a "Land Far Far Away"

Then one can also cite Utopia, Mu, Lilliput, the Abbay of Theleme, Mars with its channels, and several Moons made out of cheese.

Krondor is part of Midkemia. Midkemia is the setting of Feist's Magician and most fo the other stuff he wrote, and was based on an RPG setting he and his friends played in.

Thanks for everyone's help so far.

I know that Internet sites are more difficult to judge in terms of popularity. TV Programs and Movies are pretty difficult to choose too. Having seen the original "Beastmaster" movie, I am not sure I would call it a "setting" necessarily. But films rarely seem to have a named world/adventure locale both unique and in the fantasy genre. I suppose Anime may be better to choose from. Miyazaki had some great films. Manga certainly does.

I was wondering what the most well known fantasy worlds are. Of course, popularity is somewhat subjective, but a small internet campaign world isn't quite the same as say: Greyhawk. Please feel free to add and I will update the list.

Well, I have to mention The Kyngdoms, of course.

It's new, so I have a lot of work to do to bring to people's attention. Worthy of your list, however, IMO. Not sure of the category - published and internet, I guess.
