So far the changes to multiclassing seem to be the biggest single change I can identify.

YAY!

Ah, dancing around the maypole. Fun times. I remember doing that at my elementary school. The end of innocence and the beginning of the hell of middle / high school.

Anyways, I'm optimistic, although I do want to try it first. I wouldn't believe that it would be a viable option for more than the "first level dip", except that characters are going to get a lot more feats over their lifetime than in 3e.

It can't be much worse than 3.x multiclassing.

I'm concerned that it'll only work well for "dipping" and not for even mixes, but we'll see.

:1: I think mixes will be better handled by using a third class that covers the concept.

:2: For example, if you want to make the fighter/wizard type of character, just make a swordmage instead.

:3: Maybe we will see the most classic combination of classes as whole new classes.

I think it will work well, but I also have my bets on it being slightly more complex, or there being a secondary way to multiclass (excluding the PP way).

i clicked: change for the better... although (until i see the actual implementation) i think there should be a possibility to do it on a level basis so that you can really mix those classes...

Two of the features that may ameliorate this are:
:1: Feat re-training. You should be able to switch out "Magic Missile" for "Finger of Death" at higher levels.
:2: Powers vs. Feats. If you have 10 Class Powers and 8 Feats, that means you'll be able to have 10 Fighter Class Powers and 8 Wizard Class Powers (at the cost of all your feats). As long as the number of Powers and Feats you can get are the same an "even mix" should be possible.
