Munskins/Power gaming - Two weapon fighting feat with two bastard sword

Well, i think that every power gamer wont mind to spend an extra feat to do 1-2 more damage on a weapon.
A really crappy power gamer maybe. A hardcore power gamer will find something much better to blow feats on.

Your average person can stand at the door of an empty, well lit 30x30 room and have a 5% chance of not seeing an automobile on the other side of the room.

A cleric were to cast "animate object" on that very same automobile, that same person would have no chance of missing it at any distance under similar circumstances.

Of course, in order to even need to roll to see it, there would need to be cover or concealment to begin with, which seems to be pretty hard to come by in an empty, 30'x30', well-lit room ...

This feat chain is no big deal. Really.

Do the math: Greatsword is still better.

(Try 2 b-sword Ftr/Tempest with the Oversized Weapon feat...now yer talkin'!)

Well the new version of the tempest in 3.5 is very weak i think, this a new version on 5 level.

He have 18 of str so this help him a lot to do it...

Well yes it does, but in the off-hand he only gets to apply 1/2 str bonus. So his damage is +4/+2 for Str, not +4/+4. It really isn't as nasty as it sounds. Sometime in my past I recall hearing a rumor that at least one crusader supposedly wielded dual hand-and-a-half swords. Though he mostly used them for intimidation and dropping on folks rather than really swinging the swords.

The validity of this rumor is open to debate, but the point is that I can see it being done. It wouldn't really be swordplay, but it would be possible.

I thought you meant this from a rules perspective. Ok, I can certainly see how one would require a higher base Strength to use the weapon properly as a house rule.

Uh, Thanee?

EXOTIC WEAPON PROFICIENCY [GENERAL]
Choose a type of exotic weapon. You understand how to use that type of exotic weapon in combat.

Prerequisite: Base attack bonus +1 (plus Str 13 for bastard sword or dwarven waraxe).
Benefit: You make attack rolls with the weapon normally.
Normal: A character who uses a weapon with which he or she is not proficient takes a –4 penalty on attack rolls.
Special: You can gain Exotic Weapon Proficiency multiple times. Each time you take the feat, it applies to a new type of exotic weapon. Proficiency with the bastard sword or the dwarven waraxe has an additional prerequisite of Str 13.

A fighter may select Exotic Weapon Proficiency as one of his fighter bonus feats.

-Hyp.

Make sure he also takes Oversized Two Weapon Fighting from Complete Adventurer, which lets your treat your off hand weapon as a light weapon. So he will be -2/-2 for awhile, then with the Tempest class later on, he should end up at -1/-1 or even +0/+0

Well the new tempest class is weaker beside the version in 3.0.

Ah, there it is. :D Well, that's why I asked, never really noticed that.
His answer sounded very much like it was just his house rule, tho. ;)

Bye
