My friend has now died

I feel bad now.

Good luck Mate.

Don't feel bad, it is not your fault that lifes has to to end since it does whatever we feel about it. I will feel sad and remember my Linus for my entire life since it was my first pet and real friend that I had and that kicked alongside with me for more then fifthteen years.

I had already coped with the fact that he would die soon, just not that soon :( and feelings for loved that you loss are never less intense just because you know they will happen.

Since yesterday me and my mother have cried togather for a long time since we both loved Linus, I took a walk around one of the lakes that resides where I live (which I might add is no easy task in darkness).

The best way of dealing with the loss of a loved one or situations that can break them apart however is to share them and discuss it with people that you can call friends and that cares for your loss.

See this as therapy for me, it brings a warm feeling inside me to see so many people that supports me in the bad times and helps me to cope with the loss of Linus. Even though it will not ever make me feel less sad about the death of my friend.

Thanks for all the kind words, I'm starting to come togather again but I still cry when I look at photos or see his sleeping basket or when I remember times we had. But your words help me.

Thanks.

For what it's worth I think these post has been helpful for alot of people who have lost pets before, it's always good to know you are not alone in your grief. All in all pets are a wonderful thing, that's why it is hard when you loose one.

I'm a bit late, but let me offer my condolences. It sounds like he was an amazing cat and a wonderful friend. He will be missed and mourned by many people, some of which didn't even know him.

Pets are never easy to lose because they are a part of the family. I'm happy for you that you had such a good friend and I hope the void in your life created by his absence is soon filled.

No worries, It just reminded me.
My cat died about two years ago, after 20 years of shedding hair on my books.
I know what it is to lose a pet.

From one cat-owner to another

I hope I'm half as brave as you, Liquide, when it's Angus' time to go.

I've heard it said that heaven is the fondest thoughts and most golden memories of those you left behind, so it sounds to me like Linus' spirit will live on, in you, and in the next cat you love, should you decide there should be one.

Peace and comfort to you this season.

Growing up, I had three pets, a dog named Martina, and two cats, named Eric and Eileen. In one really bad year, I lost a great Grandmother, an uncle, and all three pets. I feel your pain.

In my eastern way of thinking, I can see a bright light at the end of linus' tunnel for in his next life he will be born with the knowledge of true love, and affection, and perhaps Linus'spirit will cherish that gift in his next life time.

On a less eastern note, I too, am a cat owner, and dred the thought of loosing my cat ( and she is a really wild one at that)
and to quote from the bible

The grass withers and the flowers fade, but the word of god is eternal. We all are whisps of vapor here today but gone tomorrow. I am one of the few who view the Word of god as the Spirit rather than the bible, and that since we (cats, birds, and man included) are made in his image, we are eternal though the physical parting of friends is hard you have the hope of finding your friend in either the next life or when your journey too is at an end.

So here is to times to come, and the freshness of a new dawn, and my utmost condolences for yours and your mothers loss.
