My wife is AWESOME!, i.e. my surprise Depeche Mode concert

Desdichado

Legend
So, my wife's been telling me for a few days now that she's got some surprise in store for me, and she totally leads me to believe it's just some little thing. Then last night she calls me a little before I leave from work, and tells me that one of our friends is watching our kids, and we'll get a "little date" and she'll roll her surprise up into that.

Turns out she had bought Depeche Mode tickets for us. :D So, not a little surprise at all. Especially since they were expensive tickets for good seats.

Of course, you have to understand that I've been a huge Depeche Mode fan for close to twenty years, yet for one reason or another, I've never made it to any of their concerts before. This was almost an epiphany of sorts for me; something I've wanted to do for years.

So, like I said, my wife's AWESOME! :D It was a great show, too, by the way...

Hope you weren't part of the crowd the other day that was blocking up traffic when the Depeche Mode concert let out. One of my poor friends after Tuesday's Game got stuck in that and didn't get in till 12:00 AM! :p

Tell your wife we think she's awesome, too. :)

Congrats, man. There's nothing like the love of a good woman.

I know what you mean. My parents are awesome too. Last year I told them that I wanted to go to GenCon. They made it happen. Since I had never been before it is an experience I will cherish.

i thought you were gonna say she took striptease classes on the side for the last 8 weeks and sent the kids away so she could do her recital for you...

Are you really the bad influence people think you are? If not, I wanna meet you someday. :p

Naw, we went last night to the Detroit show. And the traffic wasn't that bad, even with the main exit closed to I-75 from the palace. We had to go a little out of our way, but not much.

She did take bellydancing classes once a while ago, if that counts. And we joked about the exit from I-75 that goes to Big Beaver Road. It's exit #69. There's some city planner with a sense of humor right there. But no, other than that, we got in very late, and I crashed hard. Plus I was seriously dragging this morning.

And it's a game night tonight, so I'll be out late again. :\

Fixed that for you. :)

I'm dyin' to meet D. myself, sometime. Everytime I've been at Gencon, we've totally missed one another.

I'd have thought that big toothy smile of his would be impossible to miss. ;)

Cool wife, Joshua, and cool tickets. I dont' think I'll ever see Depeche Mode live, but I'll live with my CDs. :)
