D&D 5E Mythic Odysseys of Theros

I like the Oath of Glory, myself. I like the idea of a Paladin that is less a servant of a god or ideal, and more a person with a destiny of greatness.

I have Odyssey of the Dragonlords. There is a lot that I like about it.
The subclasses have promise, but lack polish.
Some like the Cleric Domain of Prophecy just read as overpowered.
Others like the Ranger and Paladin subclasses have class features that involve Pets that seem dodgy.

Have others actually used the Odyssey subclasses in play?

I noticed there isn’t a thread to discuss the book now that it’s out and nothing three pages back either. I bought it today but also wanted to see what others think. For me it covers some ground I was working on for my own home brew Masters of the Universe meets Thor meets New Gods campaign. Any. Thoughts?

I picked up the book on release as I wanted to get the special edition cover.
I haven't really used any of it yet, just browsed through it, but I'm really enjoying what's there.
Not sure I'd ever run a Theros set campaign, the idea of limiting choice to 6 races I find a bit too restrictive.
But there's plenty of useful stuff to homebrew with. As someone that never really got around to fleshing out a Pantheon I'll be taking a lot of ideas from it.

Overall I'm finding that it's pretty similar in design and quality to the Ravnica book, but instead of 10 Guilds and how to base campaigns around them, you get 10 Gods.

Which UA were playtests for MooT?
18 September 2019, eloquent heroes UA which had the bard and paladin subclasses. Not sure if the ones before it were for the book but failed to pass the threshold of approval. I don't think anything else in the book was released as UA.

The Love/Unity cleric and the starry druid where probably aimed at Theros, and therefore are probably dead.

I don’t get it... what page are you looking at?
You don't need to look anywhere, you need to adjudicate. The mythic trait says the mythic creature regains the HP. The spell says it can't. Which is in force and overrides the other is up to the DM (which is more "specific" in this case), but I would take the mythic trait every time. It was makes sense in terms of RAI.

So you just don’t let the cantrip (spesfic not general) Work as written.

Feels pretty complete to me. I was able to make a few myself (with plans to do more) and posted them here: 5e Mythic Updates. There is also a book of them on DMs Guild. Beyond just the mechanics / stat block of the mythic monsters, it is interesting how the flavored them too (both the description of the mythic trait and the encounter text). I feel it is a pretty clear template on how to make mythic monsters. I certainly don't need (or want) anything more.
Well that is where we differ. I don't use published settings so I don't really care if the setting or "world" as you put it feels more robust or hollow. Though to be honest I actually didn't like the lore of the Dragonlords, so that may have clouded my judgement. Regardless, I am looking for things i can use in my game, and MOfT provided more for me:

Mythic Odysseys of Theros:
  • Monsters
  • Mythic Monsters
  • Supernatural Gifts
  • Piety
  • Treasures
  • Artifacts.
Odyssey of the Dragonlords
  • Monsters
  • Epic Paths
  • Treasures
I'd love more mythic monsters. Fo you know what book on DMs Guild has them? I always have a terrible finding anything on there that's not super popular.
