Trying to make a monk/ranger, 11th level. His focus is on offense and his build is below. I think that is all i want as far as offence, moving forward though I was wondering if anyone could offer advice on how to get his AC up with feats/power choices. Thanks for any input.

I don't have an answer to your actual question -- I haven't done much examination of defense in the heroic tier, and none at the paragon tier.

I do, however, have the experience of watching one of my players test out the hybrid Monk/Seeker I made him. And came to the conclusion: This character's primary defense is *not being there*. He moves in and out of melee range very comfortably (lots of powers that have him moving, reducing OAs, shifting more, etc). Once his turn is over he's done damage and then he's out of range for retaliation.

It was very neat. I recommend doing what you can to just keep moving. Doesn't help with ranged attacks, of course. But it's *so* *much* *fun*. :)

Why did you take Archer's Stairway at level 2 and Splintering Shot at level 9? Those both require ranged weapons, and you seem to be focused on dual wielding waraxes.

I think sev is on to something, as the monk's best feature are the movement abilities associated with the full discipline powers.

As for improving defenses, there might be a few options in utility powers, like Yield Ground (over Archer's Stairway), or using a force weapon or force/thunder monk powers along with the feat Solid Sound. Or if you plan to flank alot, Defensive Advantage gives you a +2 bonus to AC when you have combat advantage against an enemy.

You could use certain double weapons that have the defensive property to push your AC up by 1.

Leather Armor Proficiency --> Hide Armor Proficiency --> Hide Armor Specialization would win you some AC.

You can take the hide armor option suggested by Mentat, although without being a primal class, you can't have hide armor expertise (nor would you want it though since it replaces your dex mod). After plugging these stats and making the suggested changes in CB, this character would get a net +3 AC. I had to sacrifice weapon focus to afford leather and hide prof at this level.
