It is called enshittification and it is real: take a thing that people like because it is good, and squeeze it for every last cent until it dies.
But for D&D they're so far not squeezing it for every last cent. People like to make thar claim, but we all know what squeezing looks like for not just other product lines, but for THIS product line. TSR had hundreds of branded items for D&D at their peak of squeezing, and the number of branded items in this era pales in comparison.
