r2rknot, try it again. I don't know what the problem is, but I had to go in and activate your account. The admin panel is set up to allow users to activate on their own. *confused*

garyh, I'd really like you to volunteer to run M&M and play in the other session. Now, if we could only get a 3.0 or 3.5 game going, we'd be set. I'd plug AD&D, but two sessions of HackMaster is enuf. :D

I still have the game I had mentioned before (D&D 3.5) that I could run.

OK, r2rknot, once more with feeling! ;) I think I had the board misnamed, actually named for the domain alias, and I think that's the root of the problem.

JDDragon, I'm reluctant to schedule your game for two reasons. One, it's all day and two, you'd be tapping a rather large pool of potential players for your game at DunDraCon.

No problem, I can undestand that. Let me know if you change your mind about the all day thing. (I'm cool either way) And don't sweat the player pool for the Con, I'm expecting to have plenty that want in. (I could almost fill it with just the people from my local games that want to play in it. :D ) Once again what ever you think will work best for this.

I just created a new user on my computer named "bugs" and registered on the NCGD forums. Had no problem posting. I did think having to go to my e-mail to activate the acoount was a PITA, so I shut it off. No activation is now required. Everything should be working fine.

I did notice one quirk as bugs, though. On NCGD EtherHome, the image didn't load on the index page. Images were fine on the the other pages. Could you see our current NCGD poster on the index (home) page r2rknot?

Couple thoughts:

bloodymage - thanks for keeping the effort up. I think this thread needs someone taking the fore like you have, and keeping at it.
I don't know if the NorCal Gameday needs a whole other website, but it's really neat that you did.
I will register there. I didn't see the logo on the first page when I went earlier today.
In the first post (of this thread), maybe you could put the location information? With a link to Gamer's Keepe?
And maybe put in the sketchy numbers of who's said they might play in each game. It looks a bit scary (and doesn't get the whole picture across) when people look and see that noone's signed up in most of the games.

Everyone -
It's hard to tell the approximate number of players that may be there.
Am I right in seeing that we have more DM's than players (again?)
That's a good predicament to be in, I guess. I would think it would be easier to find committed players than DM's but it's great that there have been quite a few guys wanting to run games.

The only thing I see is - the games that are running are fairly less-popular games than D&D, and thus might have difficulty getting enough people to run. Also, each of the players likely needs to have a shared rules knowledge level to some point, which may be difficult.

For example, my wife (Tory Adore here) and I are interested in playing Shadowrun. We've only played once Tabletop, and once Play by Post. But from our experience, Shadowrun has quite a wide array of what kinds of rules GM's use.
What rules will we be using for Shadowrun? Can we bring characters? (We only have 1 made each. We would send the characters ahead of time and hash out what works or doesn't work) Or can we play pregenerated characters?

Are we taking the approach that we should have many games organized/prepared, and if lots of players show up that's cool.... but if they don't, than we'll just drop one of the games and have them consolidate into one of the other 2 games that's scheduled?
If so, maybe people should post what their primary interest is, and then a backup in case not enough players show up.

Well, you can put it down, and if I actually get 3 players signed up, I'll run it. :)

Okay reapersaurus, done...sort of. All the info people need is on "our" sites and I've posted a notice, with links, stating such. As to players, r2rknot said he had a couple of friends he'd likely bring along (btw, r2r posted on the new forums, so I guess I've got the bugs out and I changed the poster pic on the website to a gif format, but haven't checked it out yet). I have five possible players, but they haven't firmed up yet. Any others, I forget or I'm just not aware of.

As to rules knowledge, ach! I know nothing about Shadowrun rules, but I'm anxious to experience it (hope it's an earlier edition). Tory Adore new nothing about HM last Game Day and had a hoot! I really don't think it will be a problem.
