New Eberron PbP

I've been looking over some of the Eberron stuff [I bought the book and never got around to reading it], so with just a basic idea of the races and not much else, I concluded that I think a Shifter (with the Wildhunt trait) Fighter would be cool. He wouldn't be your average 'big heavy armor, big heavy sword' fighter, but rather a little guy with light armor and a dagger (or something along those lines.)

I don't know how strict the eberron setting is, and I'd have to read a bit more before I give him a more thorough background.

Having said that, perhaps interested players might be willing to post some character concepts? I like the idea of making a character-driven adventure, rather than forcing random PCs into a pre-existing, generic module.

I have two Eberron concepts I've been thinking about. First, a warforged Wizard named Shimmer. He has an embeded magic item equal to a ring of blurring for use in combat. I'd like to try something interesting for his familiar perhaps an item familiar or a construct if we can work something out.

The other concept would be a human detective/bounty hunter type using the urban ranger variant, maybe with a level or two of Rogue thrown in and an eye towards an investigative prestige class when he gets a level. This one would be more in the noir style of the setting. Definately the trench coat and fedora type. A bit sarcastic with a knowing 'been there done that attitude'.

If you can do it, I'll give it a try. I do understand the dificulty in dungeoneering in a PbP though.

Branding Opportunity:
If you think of something that grabs you to try then go for it. I gave you a few ideas that might be interesting.

As far as characters I'd like to play, I had a few ideas.

Talenta Halfling Druid
Human Dragonmark Noble from House Deneith (probably a fighter, though a good noble class would be nice too)
Changling Rouge
Valenar Elven Warrior
Warforged Artifacer
Human Monk (I like some of the special Monk feats in Eberron)
Aerenal Cleric of the Undying Court.

Probably in order of which I would find them interesting to play. I'm generaly flexable, and have some interesting backgrounds for each character.

If it exists in D20, it has a true home in Eberron. It all fits togeather amazingly well, and there is very little that seems forced in to place just to have it.

Hi im new at this forum and was actually looking for an Eberron game. Lucky me.
I'm quite confused thought. Are there Two GM offering to sett up games?
GOMEZ and BRANDING OPPORTUNITY? would it not be better to make two different treads?

I hope im not writing something stupid :heh:

anyway... I want to trow a concept and see if theres some hope for it with one of the GM's.

Rak was born in Trolandport Zilargo. Son of the House of Sivis with the Mark of Scribing. He was one of 8 brothers, they where all quite different one compared to the other. Rak was the one that did all things right in life, he was good at school, he was a good son and a good brother. But he knew he could be different. Quite tired of the life between his master sorcerer and his home, he comenced to take longer walk in downtown, changin often clothes to blend in with the commoners. He was prefered to sit at the end of the bar sipping to a pint and listening to the conversations around him.

He sometimes even thought about steeling a pouch og grabbing a «forgotten» sword while hte owner was giggeling over some strong alcohol brew.

His education was near it end and a respectable jobb at the library was the place he should fill in.

The day for the serious talk to his parent had come. He told them his intention of not take the job at the library and his desire to explore the city and maybe others cities in the name of knowledge, or that was what he told his parents that conservative as they where couldnt understand his negative to take the library jobb.

As the last class of scribing was over and the diploma was given. Rak hired a room at «Poets and Ink Inn» making that his startingpoint of his new education.

My intention is that Rak is a nobel sorcerer of the house sivis. If we are starting at higher lvl then 1 he will have 2/3 of the lvls as sorcerer and the other 1/3 to be a rouge/bard/thief/streetwise/scout//cunning type of guy. Making this his second education or second fase of life. Or a straight sorcerer with high skills in all writen stuff.

Race:gnome

Let me hear from you :)

Character ideas?
2 quick ones.
Gnome Bard - reporter for the Sharn Inquisitive.
- always gets the story...even if he has to make it up.
Warforged Urban Druid
- A creation of man who finds it's "nature" within the city.

Untill someone says officialy that they're GMing, this thread is discussing who's doing it.

Once we figure out who's running this, I'll change my post to include all the info on the game, or we'll move to one created by the GM.

I'm heading out of town for the weekend, but will take some books and mags with me and do some careful mulling on this topic.

Thanks to everyone who's already submitted ideas!
