Oh, and I also use an LCD monitor

I haven't seen it on CRT, but I found the LCD view to be disturbing.

I like the title image, though. And I like rounded text boxes -- did you use images, or some other technique?

Well, I've been using Total Choice and have been pretty happy with it. I originally signed up for 1 year during a special for my home business, but after a year I haven't really done much with my webspace. Honestly, I use it more just for a messageboard for our gaming group and for email purposes. Hopefully I will get around to designing a decent webpage for my business (since I am paying for it out of my meager business earnings) :)

Images... There's an image for each corner, and a one-pixel wide tile for each border. I've got it set up with includes so that all I do is put one line before each paragraph and one line after each paragraph.

AFAIK, the only other currently available technique for doing rounded corners is to use some javascript to create a bunch of divs with dimensions that are off by a small amount, to create a rounded effect. Very ugly. Supposedly some later version of CSS will include the ability to specify images for corners and borders.

That's the only alternative I'm aware of, too, but that won't keep me from asking if someone has a new trick.

I'm very much looking forward to CSS3. Hopefully, major browsers (*cough*IE*cough*) patch to support it.

Decision made: dreamhost it is. Already they've impressed me with their speed of response and more professional service. And I mentioned that you recommended me Asmor, so hopefully they'll give you some credit for it.

Oh, you didn't need to do that. :) I make it a point not to give out my referral id when I recommend people to Dreamhost as an ethical decision (I think it says a lot more to recommend something because you think it's the best, rather than recommending it because you get some sort of referral bonus).

Regardless, much appreciated! I hope you enjoy them!

Or you could just do what I do and pay about as much attention to IE as an ogre pays to soap. That's the nice thing about running a vanity site for your own personal amusement, don't have to worry about bein compatible with things.

Or the unfortunate thing about being a corporate intranet developer. I have to be aware of what IE can do.

Where I work we are required to use IE, mostly because our policies prohibit us from installing anything else (even a flash plugin).

It would nice if the browsers technology played nicely with each other, but alas, no. Hence the need for corporate sites to load a separate page for non IE browsers.
