New Star Trek Movie Coming From D&D Movie Creators

It’s a comedy, and it’s my favourite Trek movie. It needs Wrath of Khan for the contrast though. If Trek was all TVH it wouldn’t work (for me).
It's like throwing in a "The Trouble with Tribbles" in the original series. Great episode, but maybe not great all the time. I am hoping we don't see another rehash of the original crew. Between the Kelvin movies and Strange New Worlds, I'm a little tapped out on new people playing the holy trinity of Kirk, Spock, and McCoy.

My big question here is where this new story would fit in the Trekverse. I also share @Morrus 's concern about tone. Trek can be a lot of things, but a new movie is going to set expectations for folks, and I don't personally think straight comedy is a good expectation. Hopefully it'll be more like Homecoming as has been suggested.

I imagine this is pretty unlikely but I would actually like to see a movie that was something between First Contact and Arrival where this time we are the aliens. Or just anything really that explores something that should be blindingly obvious to an "outside observer" about how all this spaciness works and shows us a Trek that incorporates it.

"Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home" would be a good example of Star Trek being seasoned with comedy. "Where can i find the nuklear wessels?"
And a good example of what I don't want in a Trek movie. I know I'm in the minority about it. IV is my least liked Trek. The comedy and that it took place on Earth.

That's why I referred to it as "seasoning." You're right that trying to make the whole thing comedy would be a mistake. "Lower Decks" only works (For me, anyway) because of all the more serious Trek.

Ranked even below V? Harsh.
Yes. I saw it more as a Trek movie. Here's this mysterious man with an unusual power over people. Twist; it's Spock's brother. Of course God had no need for a starship, but the journey getting to the revelation was entertaining.
It's not my favorite but I enjoyed it.

You are literally the anti-me. We should never meet. I assume it works like antimatter.
