New Star Trek Movie Coming From D&D Movie Creators

Voyage Home is the most like a really good episode.

First Contact is probsvly the best just as a movie
These two (and 1, 2, 3, 7 and 10) lack the element of allegory that are characteristic of a TV show episode. Insurrection leans heavily into the allegory. I guess 5 is trying to be allegorical, but it’s messaging is very confused. “Cults are bad” I guess.

Insurrection is the most like a feature length mediocre episode.

Final frontier is the most like a terrible episode.

I never really got the love for First Contact. It’s… OK. It has the benefit of being the only non-awful TNG movie, I suppose.

I think it manages to get comedy, character beats, action and horror together in one movie, and still remain coherent. But for me, not having Shatner in it is a major plus.

Also, the only one with Broccoli.

Just an FYI.

There is a channel called Comet. They feature sci-fi TV and movies. Tonight they are showing Into Darkness and The Wrath of Khan. You may have to look for availability in your area.

One of these days I should rewatch TMP. It has been a long time and I bet I don't find it as plodding as I had when I was younger.
After a long drought it was something we fans really looked forward to, but it just barely scratched the itch for me. It was nice to see the new Enterprise, but they could have easily shaved minutes off the run-time by cutting it back, without sacrificing anything. Other than that it was essentially a rewrite of TOS episode "The Changeling."
