Maybe it is time for Tellarites and Andorians to get some love.
The main reason for not focusing on nonhuman protagonists is the time in makeup (and possibility of adverse skin reactions) and the difficulty many actors have emoting through heavy prosthetics (there were a few, such as Andreas Katsulas, who were awesome at it).

However, Predator: Badlands may have just broken that barrier.
In the original Klingon.
Which made Klingons and other space orcs look like wusses.

Kind of assumed the party was over on those films for a while by now, pwrsonaly, but they had some great qualities.
Yeah. I mean, Star Trek Beyond came out nearly a decade ago. The Kelvin timeline got a brief mention in a Star Trek Discovery episode but otherwise it might as well not exist any longer. As much as I enjoyed the films for what they were and would happily watch them again should I feel the urge to do so, I'd much rather future shows and movies focus on the main Star Trek timeline.

I would watch a post-Picard show with Seven-of-Nine as captain. I would also watch a reboot of TOS with the SNW cast.
