The latest Unearthed Arcana is a big 13-page document! “Every character class in D&D has features, and every class gets one or more class feature variants in today’s Unearthed Arcana! These variants replace or enhance a class’s normal features, giving you new ways to enjoy your character’s class.”

I thought it was so you could be outfitted for battle one day and take off the all bulky magical equipage and be perfect for social arenas when you go in town. :/

At a rate of 1 spell a day? And is it a problem when the Cleric, Wizard, or Druid does the same thing?

And other than enhance ability, what spell are you needing to take into social settings? Are they casting spells while talking to people? Do your NPCs not consider spellcasting as dangerous as drawing a weapon?

It was a wizard reference they were classically able to swap em out with a few minutes time per level or something similar every single spell anything magic could do they could change utterly from day to day. Martial classes dependent on skills do not get to suddenly get diplomacy when they used to have history or the like.... shrug.

Conversely are you just talking zero conflict situations as your social pillar? might as well delete that concept from the book then. Who needs mechanics for that.

I see Phantasmal Killer on the UA Bard list, but not Phantasmal Force.

Favored Foe also steps on the Monster Hunter's Slayer's Prey ability pretty hard.

For what it's worth, those two do stack. It'd likely depend on the type of enemy you're facing and how far along you are in the Monster Slayer progression which one you'd want to activate first.

Silver Tongue When you make a Charisma (Deception) check or a Charisma (Persuasion) check, you can expend one superiority die, and add the superiority die to the ability check.

The way they have it is too early now, though. A 1 level ranger dip gives WIS classes 5 slots for hunter's mark per day without the concentration req so they can have it up all the time.

A change I just brainstormed on this one is 1/day initially, and WIS-mod/day when you get your 6th Ranger level (which is the same level the Favored Enemy Ranger gets another pick of FE).

Bow dude pretty sure it wasn't just legolas shooting them thar gobbies down with one shot kills. Two weapon fighter became ranger in 3e due to some elf, I actually made a Versatile Ranger Build (they use versatile weapons like they were a double weapon if they do it with two hands) ... actually kind of trivial to call it a build.
