If you mean, "Can I apply the effect of a metamagic feat more than once to the same spell," the answer is no. It simply made those feats (Empower, *cough*) too good.

You can apply more than one metamagic feat to the same spell, just as in 3.0, so your 17th-level wizard can cast an empowered, quickened fireball as a 9th-level spell.

So, can anyone think of a situation in 3.5 where a character having the Empower Spell feat is better off than a character not having the Empower Spell feat?

Turthfully, I enjoyed it while the gettin' was good, but it's time to put that one up. Even I have to admit that multiply stacking extends and empowers got ridiculously powerful compared to maximizes and persistants. Admittedly, it bites a little when the buff spells got reduced to 1min/level, because they could very feasibly still be 10 min/level with this news, but that's the way the cookie crumbles.

I would like to know which thread has that response from Andy Collins. I went to the thread where Psifon asked that question,HERE -there is no reply from Andy on that thread. Unless it was asked and answered somewhere else, can someone point out which thread its in.

Umm...

*me points at Stalker0's sig*

...perhaps that's why?

Well if Stalker0 is Andy thats great-but I have seen alot people copy and paste comments from Andy's Boards and his Name shows up like that in them all(see posts by Paladin-his show up that way when he's quoted Andy's boards also). I have seen Andy say he almost always posts under his name. So again-if Stalker0 is Andy thats great. But he posted a quote from Andy's Boards-maybe he can tell us where it came from-as in which thread.

I'm sure he can tell you, but Stalker is not Andy.

Andy posts as something easily identifiable here, can't recall exactly what he uses.

The .sig in Stalker's post is part of the quote from Andy, and that is Andy's .sig here, on his boards and on WotC's boards.

Oh... okay, I understand now.

:o

I feel rather foolish now... don't mind me!

I can confirm that JoeBlank is correct. As to whether the metamagic info is correct, I don't know - I took it at face value. I just went there and couldn't find it either.
