As I already said, I won't go to 4e, because:
1) It's not D&D to me, nor the game rules that fit my view of fantasy, and I already have enough rulesets for my vision of what fantasy rpgs should be.
2) I resent what I essentially see an attempt at milking my wallet on WotC part.
HOWEVER:
1) I do like other RPG genres too.
2) I still buy products (lastly the somewhat 3rd edition of Savage Worlds for only 10$).
HENCEFORTH:
1) Instead of masquerading 4e as D&D, give it another name (such as "Paragons of Power"), and give it a deliberate fantasy-ANIME flavor, with the relevant art. That game would be said to be based off D&D, but be a new game for a different genre.
2) Make that into a one or two books only (the second being a merging of DMG and MM).
AS A RESULT:
1) I could be interested in trying it.
2) I could buy the book, if only for the read.

To me 4e looks like this:
I have an old Mercedes that runs well, despite it's not an up-to-date car. Then a car dealer proposes me a Lexus telling me that this is actually a Mercedes. Fact is, I like both Mercedes and Lexus. However, I won't buy that car and will be angry at the car dealer. As a result I am now probably looking for a BMW...
